Product information
Combining optimum creativity with streamlined functionality, the Nikon D5300 DSLR Camera offers a high powered performance with the flexibility of built-in WiFi and GPS.

Impeccable images

With inspiring image quality delivered from a 24.2-million pixel count and a DX-format CMOS image sensor, the D5300 produces spectacular photos and videos. The Nikon camera achieves images with rich detail, smooth, natural skin tones and brilliant lucidity. Designed with no optical low-pass filter, the SLR ensures the very finest details are packed in with brilliant sharpness and depth.

The EXPEED 4 image processing engines delivers a superior rendering performance; images stand out with vivid detail and natural colour reproduction. The processing chip unleashes the full potential of the megapixel count, giving your shots exquisite colour, less noise and true-to-life tones. Nikon's exclusive EXPEED image unit manages extensive image data at rapid speeds for an uninterrupted shooting – taking on the hard work for you.

Picture control

Nikon's unique Picture Control feature provides Standard, Neutral, Vivid, Monochrome, Portrait and Landscape settings. You can manually adjust the sharpness and contrast of your shot, capturing the most favourable result.

See the subject in perfect real time detail through the optical viewfinder and capture with reliable focusing, easy tracking, concentrated composing and stable handling.

Fully focused

The Nikon D5300 DSLR uses a 39-point focusing system that quickly and sharply captures pin-sharp action even if the subject is not in centre frame. The wide AF coverage and high-density focus points assist with focusing, ensuring that every subject stands out whether it be a portrait or landscape shot. What's more, the dynamic-area AF mode is suitable for shooting fast-moving subjects, so you can capture that flying bird or leaping child in flawless detail.

High precision shooting

Capture that all important split-second moment in a burst of shots fired at five frames per second. The rapid shooting allows you to freeze the sports action or fast-moving subject accurately and in natural form.

The D5300 boasts an impressive Scene Recognition System that adapts to diverse shooting and lighting situations. The precise system collects brightness and colour data before analysing and selecting the optimal light exposure, flash exposure, autofocus and white balance – then it releases the shutter for that perfect photo.

WiFi and GPS

The first Nikon SLR with WiFi connectivity, the D5300 offers creative explorers the opportunity to capture and share your world in dramatic detail. Just pick the image you wish to share and send it to your smartphone or tablet device, with no additional accessories necessary.

A remote shooting function means you can control the shutter release from your mobile device - all you need to do is download the app. It can also operate as a remote live view monitor – great for capturing group photos.

With built-in GPS you can enrich your travel shots with location information. View the precise location of each shot through the map view function. It also enables you to create track logs that record your latitude, longitude, altitude and time.

Furthermore, Nikon users can qualify for free storage on Nikon's image sharing and storage service – so back-up storage is always available when the memory card is full.

Shooting options

A Full HD movie recording mode captures moments in smooth high definition detail at up to 60 fps while a special effects mode with nine settings allows you to add some creative filters to your compositions. There are also a number of in-camera editing functions to make use of, including active D-lighting.

D5300 design

The monocoque structure which makes use of innovative materials gives the DSLR a lighter and more compact body while maintaining essential durability.

A 3.2” vari-angle monitor enables flexible shooting from a wide variety of angles, from low to high, and makes great self portraits possible.

The innovative Nikon D5300 DSLR Camera brings powerful imaging technology, fantastic features and outstanding creativity to your fingertips.
