Product information
Achieve both captivating long-range shots and dazzling macro images with the Sigma 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon cameras.

Dual-purpose lens

Optimised for digital Canon SLR cameras, the APO DG 70 - 300 mm Lens is a telephoto zoom lens with a tele-macro function.

It's capable of shooting with a maximum magnification of 1:2 at its full 300 mm focal length, making it a superb choice for portraits, shooting sports, nature photography or other situations where you need a lens with telephoto range.

Consistent performance

The Sigma 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Telephoto Lens displays enhanced optical performance right across its zoom range, so you know you'll be able to achieve a versatile range of results.

There is a switch to convert the lens to macro photography at focal lengths between 200 mm and 30 mm, with a minimum focusing distance of 95 cm (37.4”). In its standard operating mode, focusing distance is 150 cm (59.1”) at all zoom settings; and its maximum magnification between 200 mm and 300 mm is 1:2.9 to 1:2.

Therefore even with its telephoto capabilities, the lens will still deliver stunning close-up images with which to diversify your portfolio.

High-quality lens glass

The 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Zoom Lens features two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements in the front lens group and another in the rear lens group. This enables it to outstandingly correct chromatic aberrations throughout its zoom range, delivering true, detailed colour for all focal lengths.

A new multi-layer lens coating in this high-performance APO lens reduces ghosting and flare, common to digital photography, and also enhances colour balance and contrast for optimum scene reproduction.

Supplied with a lens hood to remove extraneous light and maintain perfect exposure characteristics, the Sigma 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon cameras is a fantastically adaptable choice to really expand your SLR's potential.

It was cheap. The macro focusing is useful for close ups.
I struggled to get an image of a high enough quality at any focal length.
Get the Canon 70-300mm usm, you won't regret the extra cash!

Great lens. Picture quality is fantastic especially for the money - its a steel. At 300mm a tripod is recommended as this lens has no stabillty on board but pair with a tripod and you wont regret.
The only bad points are the macro settinb isnt really a macro fuction. Just shortens the focal range from 1.25mts to 0.95 mts. And the macro only works in the (locked) zone of 200-300mm. The switch also locks tight sometimes and u have to give the zoom ring a little wiggle. Dispite all this its still a fantastic lens at this price range. Nothing will beat it in this price bracket. Just buy and dont look back.

Price, build quality, ok to use on 70-150mm without Tripod.
Over 150mm you can see shake, bc no image stabilization, at 300mm poor image quality. Bought 50-250mm with IS, more expensive, but save on tripod, totally worth.

Easy to use, focus quickly.
Does not do close focus, think minimum is about 0.95 meters, my old one went a lot closer but maybe for the price something has to give?
