A prolific photography performance
This 18 mp camera boasts a level of specification which is more commonly found in more expensive semi-professional models. The combination of high resolution APS-C sized sensor and Canon's powerful DIGIC 4 image processor allows you to produce pictures of stunning clarity, with beautiful poster-sized prints easily being possible. Just add a Canon EOS lens of your choice (sold separately) and get shooting!
In common with the EOD 7D, the Canon EOS 550D incorporates a 63-point iFCL metering system which assesses focus, colour and luminance data, resulting in superbly accurate and consistent metering.
Capture portfolio worthy images
The EOS 550D Digital SLR Camera also gives you the ability to capture detail-packed Full HD movies at a smooth frame rate of 30 fps. Alternatively, you can select to shoot 720p video at 50 or 60 fps, whilst a 3.5mm stereo microphone socket allows the possibility of an external microphone for improved sound quality.
Composing your pictures and videos with the EOS 550D is a joy too, whether you're using the bright optical viewfinder or taking advantage of the Live View function via the 3" Clear View LCD monitor with 1,040k dots of resolution.
