Photo power
The Canon PowerShot A1200 is equipped with a 4x optical zoom lens with a zoom range of 28-112 mm (35mm equivalent), allowing keen snappers to capture a scenic vista one moment and a picture-perfect portrait the next. You can also switch to shooting 720p movies in seconds, allowing you to pick and choose the most appropriate medium for the moment.
Powered by two AA batteries (supplied), the Canon PowerShot A1200 is ideally suited to adventurous travel. If you run out of power while out and about, just pick up a pair of common AA batteries in almost any supermarket anywhere on the planet - impossible with proprietary lithium-ion batteries.
Camera features
Other features you're sure to love include a dedicated Blur Reduction mode for challenging low-light conditions, a bright and colourful 2.7-inch LCD screen for framing your photos and viewing the results, and even an optical viewfinder. The latter is especially surprising at this price, and allows you to accurately compose your photos in bright light where seeing the LCD screen would be problematic.
