What to look out for when choosing your dishwasher
Capacity
Capacity is measured in ‘place settings’. A standard place setting is equal to an 11-piece dinner set. Slimline dishwashers can typically hold 8 plate settings, full size dishwashers typically hold 12, but can hold up to 15.
Water consumption
Dishwashers vary in how much water they use for each wash. Standard models use about 16 litres, but some use as little as 10 litres. Hand-washing dishes uses 63 litres of water.
Effeciency ratings
To cut down energy costs, dishwashers are rated from AAA (most efficient) down to G, depending on the amount of electricity they use, and the time they take to wash and dry a full load.
Number of programmes
Most dishwashers have five programmes, although some have as many as twelve that help save water and electricity, and make it easier to tackle certain items - such as delicate crockery or oven dishes.
Half load programmes are ideal for smaller loads as they use less energy and water.
Sensor technology tailors the energy and the water used to the specific needs of the wash load.
Delicate programmes are great for glassware to ensure perfectly clean crockery and no damage
Baby care cycles remove harmful bacteria for cockery, giving you complete peace of mind.
