There are 3 main types of TV screen; LCD, LED and Plasma. Each has different qualities, suitable for different programmes, viewing environments and screen sizes.
LCD TVs rely on a large light source to provide great, everyday viewing, but this makes the back of the TV bigger and bulkier than LED or Plasma TVs so is usually available on larger screens.
LED TVs are more suited to a wider variety of programmes providing the most vivid colours and best all round picture with higher contrast and brighter image. LED TVs are great for brightly lit rooms, are slimmer in design and more suited to a variety of screen sizes, from small to large.
Plasma TVs are available in screen sizes larger than 42”. Designed with the big screen moments in mind, they offer high screen speeds which make them ideal for watching fast moving action. Plasma TVs are great for dimmer rooms for fantastic definition and the most natural colours.
