Bored of his life and fearing an encounter with Palestinians, Israeli Zohan Dvir (Adam Sandler) fakes his death and flies to New York to begin a new life... As a hair stylist!
But Zohan finds it difficult to get a job. When he proposes to work for free he is hired as a cleaner by Dahlia, a hairdresser in New York. Zohan gets tangled up with everyone in the neighbourhood as he falls in love with Dahlia, has to deal with the excited lady clientele of the hairdressing saloon, a crazy landlord who wants to cause trouble and various incidents that make Zohan almost want to go back to live with his parents!
