Multi-purpose viewer

Good Points+: Easy to carry out initial set up to get started. Picture quality excellent out-of-the-box - better than most cheaper sets.
Sound quality from TV speakers better than expected. It can be improved further with a soundbar but at significant extra cost - try it before you invest. If using a soundbar connected via HDMI ARC the volume level is displayed on screen - not always the case with other TVs.
Switching between different sources easy and logical.
Cable management facility useful.

Bad Points−: Remote control takes some getting used to with its "dual ring" of buttons making it easy to press the wrong one.
Instructions and explanations of the menus very poor - you need to be familiar with setting up smart TVs or use the help text on the TV or on the Sony website.
Catch-up TV apps all present and correct but little else of use in the app gallery. As far as I can see, you can't add or remove apps or rearrange them for quicker access to those you use most.
Disappointingly, the EPG does not scroll backwards making it awkward and cumbersome to use 7-day catch-up compared with others.
Cannot pause live TV.
