Check out the latest Cyberpunk Xbox games and deals
Undoubtedly one of the most ambitious games of the last few years, Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox is an epic dystopian adventure set in a vividly realised future city. It’s easy to see why this landmark release was so feverishly anticipated. Its developer, CD Projekt Red, has serious pedigree, having won wild acclaim for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Cyberpunk was clearly a game with big ideas and a serious budget.
You take on the role of V, a genetically modified mercenary looking to pick up work on the mean, neon-soaked streets of Night City. The nature of those modifications, as well as many other characteristics are customisable, allowing you to personalise your journey though the game. You can even pick from three lifepaths: Nomad (leaving behind your nomad family, you head to Night City in search of work), Streetkid (having returned from out of town, you work favours in old haunts), and Corpo (living a hectic life as an Arasaka counter intel agent, you strive to make your way to the top).
Cyberpunk’s brooding, atmospheric setting in Night City. Corporation-controlled and ridden with crime, this dystopian mega city is beset by corruption and violence. It’s also a brilliant realised open world gaming environment that’s ripe for exploration. Aside from the main storyline you can take on side quests to gain street cred, unlock skills, vendors and places. Well-scripted characters and quality acting – look out for Keanu Reeves – ensures that the RPG elements of Cyberpunk Xbox are immersive and engaging.
Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox Series X is still awaiting release, but it should be worth the wait – a game on the scale of Cyberpunk will look stunning on a next-gen console. Until then, we have Cyberpunk Xbox One and a Cyberpunk PlayStation edition for PS4.
