These days, more and more companies are creating products made from recycled materials. The National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR) says the number of plastic bottles being recycled has almost doubled in the last ten years.
That’s good news for the planet – especially the oceans. At least 14 million tons of plastic end up in the ocean every year, and plastic makes up 80% of all marine debris.
What is HP doing to help the planet?
HP is the latest company we’ve seen putting recycled materials to good use, in its range of Renew laptop bags that use sustainable fibres made from recycled plastic bottles. So, if you want to protect your laptop and do your bit for the planet at the same time, they’re well worth checking out.
How does HP make its sustainable laptop bags?
It all starts with plastic bottles. They’re collected, carefully sorted, and broken down into pellets. The pellets are then melted into a thin fibre that’s spun into yarn. And HP weaves that yarn into its Renew series of laptop backpack and cases…
HP Renew laptop backpack
This backpack is perfect for anyone that does a lot of travel. The shoulder straps have been specially designed to prevent back strain, so you’ll feel comfortable on long walks. It also has a handle for the times you don’t want to carry it on your back, along with a handy trolley strap. So you can securely attach it to luggage if you need to get on a train or plane.
It fits any laptop up to 15.6", and as well as the large padded main compartment, you’ve got plenty of extra pockets for everyday accessories like chargers, phones, wallets and keys.
Oh, and it’s water resistant, so you can head out into the Great British weather with no worries at all. Just remember your brolly.
HP Renew laptop case
Just like the backpack above, the HP Renew laptop case is water-resistant, has a handy trolley strap, and can fit any laptop up to 15.6” into its padded main compartment – with plenty of additional accessory space.
It also has an adjustable strap that gives you the option of carrying it on your shoulder. In fact, the main difference between the HP Renew laptop case and backpack is how they’re carried – we’ll let you decide which you prefer!
