We love phone launch events. The excitement, the anticipation, the free food… But this Samsung Unpacked event really was extra special, because for the first time they’ve given us three S10s to choose from.
You’ve got the flagship Galaxy S10, the super-sized Galaxy S10 Plus, and a lower priced Galaxy S10e. Take your pick.
The Samsung Galaxy S10
The Galaxy S10 is Samsung’s standard-sized flagship, and the first thing you’ll notice is just how good it looks. Check out that screen!
Edge-to-edge Infinity-O display
Wow. What a display. The 6.1-inch edge-to-edge display means business, and it’ll make your favourite TV and games look epic. The reason Samsung has called it Infinity-O is because of a simple dot opening for the camera (the ‘O’). There’s no notch and no home button – in fact, there’s no nothing getting between you and your viewing experience.
Innovative True Vision camera
Three is the magic number, and that’s certainly the case with the S10’s 12MP+12MP+16MP triple lens camera. It’s got what Samsung calls ‘True Vision’, meaning you’ll capture every shot as your eyes would see it in real-life. So those amazing sunsets finally have a camera that’ll do them justice.
If you’re wondering what those three cameras do, they include an ultra-wide and ultra-zoom lens which will help you capture whole scenes from all angles and distance. The ultra-wide lens, with its 123-degree field of view, will make light work of landscapes and shots of large groups – no one has to fall off the side of the shot!
Oh, and finally, this camera’s ace in low light. Even when it’s dark, your photos will look vibrant.
PowerShare – new to the S series
Best mates share everything. Well, most things. And now you can even share your power. If your friend’s out of charge, you can bring their phone back to life by placing your S10 back to back with their device – which will transfer some of your power to them. They’ll owe you one.
And it’s not just phones you can recharge with the S10. It works with wearables and headphones too. So no worries if your Galaxy Buds run out of charge while you’re mid-run in the gym; a quick boost from your S10 will have them back up and running in no time, and you can go back to your inspirational playlist.
An in-display fingerprint scanner
Fingerprint scanners have been around for a while, but the S10 (and S10 Plus) have taken it to the next level. This ultrasonic fingerprint scanner sits under the display and works in the sorts of conditions that other security scanners struggle with.
Low temperatures and strong sunlight are no match for this smart bit of security tech, and it should give you the peace of mind that your phone can only be unlocked by you – and that’s exactly as it should be.
So, before we move on, let’s have a quick rundown of the best things about the Samsung Galaxy S10.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus
Everything that’s great about the S10 is here on the S10 Plus – but the Plus is even bigger. Feast your eyes on the enormous 6.4-inch Infinity-O display. Just think how good your favourite entertainment’s going to look on here.
The 12MP+12MP+16MP triple lens camera that we loved on the S10 is right here on the S10 Plus, but the front camera is where things get really serious.
The S10 Plus has an ultra-wide 10MP+8MP dual lens front-facing camera. So if want to show off the amazing landscape behind you, or you’ve got loads of people to fit in a selfie, this phone is just the job.

This was perhaps the big surprise of launch night. No-one was expecting three phones to be unveiled, but this lower-priced Samsung Galaxy S10e has got us all excited. Not least because it has everything you’d expect from a Samsung S series phone – great display, camera and security.
That immersive 5.8-inch Infinity-O display is a joy to watch videos on, while the True Vision camera is present and correct too. And the secure fingerprint scanner is a side scanner, which means you can get into your phone in one simple move. It’s all good stuff.
