Summer has (finally) arrived. And when the sun’s out, the fun’s out! And while indoor activities can help pass rainy days, sunny days are great for heading outdoors and making memories. And we’ve got a few ideas to help you do just that.

Segway Ninebot Zing E10 electric folding scooter

E-scooters are the next big thing. And with the Segway Ninebot Zing C20, you can let your kids roll out in style. Not only is it a fun way for them to get out and about, but you don’t have to worry about them going too fast, too soon – especially if it’s their first e-scooter.

That’s because it comes with three speed modes so your child can build up confidence at their own pace. Safe mode is perfect for beginners, cruise mode lets them kick to accelerate, and – after they’ve mastered the skill of scootering – turbo mode lets them zoom around.

This scooter is suitable for older children aged 10 and above. If you’ve got younger kids, why not take a look at the Segway Ninebot Zing C8 electric folding scooter?

Please note: It is the responsibility of the user to comply with local and country laws associated to e-scooters. Just so you know, it’s illegal to use an e-scooter on public highways. They should only be used on private land, with the landowner's permission. And remember to always wear protective gear.

ZIMX HB2 Hoverboard

Walking? That’s so retro. Instead, get rolling with the ZIMX HB2 Hoverboard – perfect for both kids aged six and up, and adults who are big kids at heart (yes, we mean you). Once you’ve mastered the art of riding a hoverboard, you can zip around at speeds up to 8mph. Just be sure to wear a helmet and safety pads. The best part? It’s powered by a Samsung battery with a range of up to 10 miles, meaning your kid can enjoy the ride without worrying about running out of power.

Ryze Tello drone

Complete beginners will be flying the Ryze Tello drone in no time at all thanks to the easy-to-use Ryze app. Once your kid’s mastered the flying side of things, they can try out some cool tricks and stunts with a simple tap of the app. What’s more, thanks to the HD camera, they can take some truly jaw-dropping aerial snaps.

Huawei Band 6 fitness tracker

Summer is for being outdoors. And it’s also for style. The Huawei Band makes a great first fitness tracker for children, and measures all sorts of everyday activities – not just step counting. In fact, there are 96 different workout modes! The best part is, they can all be tracked with easy-to-read colour graphs.

Celestron Astromaster Reflector Telescope

Astronomy’s a great hobby for those warm summer nights when there’s not a cloud in the sky. And the Celestron Astromaster telescope is out of this world (get it?).

With a jam-packed kit that includes an adjustable tripod, two eyepieces and magnification of up to 70x, you don’t have to waste time on set-up. Simply watch this space – literally! The standout feature here is the pan-handle controls that allow your kid to point and track smoothly and accurately. This way, they can enjoy uninterrupted views of the night sky, and – hopefully – a planet or two.
