One of the most useful Copilot+ PC features is Click to Do.2 It looks at what's on your screen, and suggests actions based on the content.

A recipe can be turned into a quick shopping list, or a photo from a holiday can be sent straight into an editing tool. And you can do all this without switching between apps or opening new documents.

How to use Copilot+ PCs' Click to Do feature

Here's how to get started on Click to Do:

Highlight the text, image, or content you want to use.

Activate Click to Do in Windows 11. Press Windows + Q, or hold the Windows key and left-click anywhere on the screen. If you're using a touchscreen, press and hold with two fingers.

Select the action you want to carry out - such as copy, summarise, edit, or Ask Copilot.

Handy hint: You can also access Click to Do through the Snipping tool or Windows Recall.

What is Recall (preview) in Windows?

So, what is Windows Recall?3 It's a Copilot+ PC feature (currently being previewed) designed to tackle one annoying problem - finding things you know you've seen but can't quite locate again.

Recall creates searchable snapshots of your activity. That might include a recipe you were looking at but forgot to bookmark, or a diagram in a blog post you meant to save but never did. It doesn't treat your laptop like a filing system. It's more like a timeline you can scroll back through.

Windows Recall requirements: this feature is available on Copilot+ PCs released from June 2024 onward. To check if your laptop supports it, look in your settings under 'System' to see if Recall is listed as a feature.

Find anything again with Windows 11 Recall

When you want to find something, simply describe it the way you remember (“recipe for lemon cake” or “Lisbon travel guide from last week”), and Recall searches your timeline for matching moments. It really is easy as that. You don't have to hunt through files or rack your brain to remember where something might be.

Search your way with improved Windows Search

Windows Search is still the main way to find files, apps and settings stored on your device. And with Copilot, it's become more flexible and easier to use.

Instead of needing to remember exact file names or where something was saved, you can now describe what you're looking for in plain language. Then Windows Search will do the rest. That means you can search for things the way you remember them. Maybe it's an old CV, that snipping tool you can never quite find, or a display setting you changed months ago.

Using Windows Search takes just a few steps:

1

Press Windows + S or select the search icon on the taskbar.

2

Type what you're looking for into the search box.

3

Scan the results as they appear.

4

Filter by Apps, Documents, Settings or Web.

5

Select the result that matches.

Understand more instantly with Live Captions

Microsoft Live Captions4 turns spoken audio into real-time text on your screen. It works across things like videos, meetings, podcasts and live calls, showing captions as the audio plays.

It's useful in situations like:

Following a lecture or tutorial where the speaker is difficult to understand

Joining a global video call where people switch between languages

Watching a product demo recorded in another country

Keeping up with content in a noisy café without headphones

Live Captions are powered by Copilot and integrated into Windows, so there's nothing extra to set up or install. You just need to go into Settings > Accessibility > Captions and turn them on. You can also access them from the quick settings menu.

If you want a laptop that helps you get things done more quickly, Copilot+ PCs are well worth checking out. With features like Click to Do, Recall, Windows Search and Live Captions, you can find what you need and keep on top of everything easily - almost without thinking about it!
