Exciting things are happening to Windows laptops. Ever since we covered the Copilot+ PCs launch back in May, we’ve been keeping an eye on the latest updates from Windows. And we have good reason. Windows 11 and Copilot+ PCs have been releasing productivity boosting tools and updates that are transforming the way we work, play and get creative.

Part of it is about making it easier to get organised and find what you need when you need it. Removing those little time-wasting tasks that soon add up. But it’s also about getting the tools you need to solve problems and take on challenges that can sometimes seem daunting.

So, let’s get the latest Copilot+ PC news…

What’s new with Copilot+ PCs?

Here are some of the amazing new features coming soon to a Copilot+ PC near you…

Recall (Preview)

Can’t remember where you save that file? Everything you’ve opened or have been working on is presented to you in a scrollable sequence of snapshots. So, if you can remember roughly when you were working on something, it’ll be right in front of you. That’s a real time saver!

Work files can obviously be confidential, so you have to opt in for snapshots. If you do, you’ll have to use Windows Hello to unlock Recall – just for that extra layer of security. Highly sensitive info (like credit cards or ID numbers) can further be blurred behind special filters. Everything’s been thought of!

Click to do (Preview)

Click to do is an entire overlay that gives you all kinds of actions depending on the file type. If it’s text, it can help with summarising, explaining or rewriting. Click on something in a picture and you’ll get the option to search for it in Bing. And that’s just scratching the surface.

Resolution booster

Take any photo (even old photos) and you can have Ai give the resolution a boost. Even grainy old photos get a magic makeover to 4K! It’s great when you’ve only got a small image available, and you need to enlarge it for a presentation or print job.

Get creative with generative tools

Ai is increasingly able to take over the little jobs that most of us struggle with. Generative fill and erase are real gamechangers when it comes to image editing. Simply describe what you’d like adding to an image and it can make it happen. Alternatively, highlight what you’d like erased from an image and it’ll disappear like magic.

Add that to existing Copilot skills and you’ve suddenly got creative superpowers - whether you're a designer, writer or putting together a presentation.

Enhanced Windows 11 features for smarter workflows

Windows 11’s productivity features are all about breaking down the barriers stopping you from getting more done. Here are a few of the latest and greatest features…

Smarter search

Need to find files you’ve been working on faster? There’s an improved Windows search from the taskbar. Rather than just desperately trying to remember a file name, you could describe what you’re looking for in your own words. For example: “Help me find that blue sales graph” and then that info is used to very smartly scan your files, apps, folders and online. It’s like having a virtual personal assistant.

Take control of your desktop

The new Snap Layouts and Snap Groups make multitasking a breeze, letting you organise your open windows in a way that works for you. Additionally, the improved virtual desktops feature allows you to create separate workspaces for different projects, helping you stay focused and on top of everything.

How to get these new features

These features are coming soon and if you have a Copilot+ PC already the good news is that you won’t have to do much! Just make sure you check Settings > Window Update and are opting in to the latest updates.

That way, when everything’s launched you’ll be pushed an update. On top of these features, the latest update to Windows 11, version 24H2, already includes extra features like enhanced battery saver and support for Wi-Fi 7.

Want to trial some of them early? These new features will be previewed first to the Windows Insider Community before becoming broadly available to all Copilot+ PCs customers. Some features will begin rolling out to selected devices, markets and languages beginning this month. Find out more and sign up here: Getting started with the Windows Insider Program
