Did you catch EA Play? EA gave us the lowdown on all their upcoming releases at their own livestreamed event. EA Play was chock full of awesome trailers and gameplay reveals. We’ve rounded up all the announcements so you don’t need to go hunting for them!

GRID Legends

Get revved up for the latest game in the GRID series! EA brought us a new trailer for the racing game. This is one with a twist though, players can choose to have a much bigger focus on story to tie in all those epic racing moments. Big names like Ncuti Gatwa (you’ll recognise him from Netflix’s show Sex Education) makes these cutscenes a cut above.

New cars like an exclusive in-game Aston Martin are enough to get any petrol head itching for the 2022 release date. Plus, it looks like EA have made this the most realistic yet- both in terms of the blow-your-socks-off next gen graphics and the crash physics to go with it.

GRID Legends is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4 and PS5 in 2022.

Battlefield 2042

We’ve already spoken quite a bit about the new Battlefield – see our E3 2021 round-up and guide to Xbox’s E3 showcase. And you can’t blame us really. It looks unbelievably fun.

But EA had some extra info to throw our way, like new game mode Battlefield Portal. Not only do you get all the new mega maps, but EA are also including six favourite maps from older Battlefield titles. Along with that, there are loads of classic weapons, vehicles and gadgets from older games too.

Then there’s the new Builder function. Players can create their own Battlefield experiences. Want to customise every element of your battle? Now you can. Choose the number of plays, weapons, modes, almost everything! So whatever you love about Battlefield, you can guarantee it’ll be in 2042.

Battlefield 2042 is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS4 and PS5 on 22 October.

Dead Space

Terrifying. In the best possible way. That pretty much sums up the teaser trailer we got for the Dead Space remake. For those who don’t know, Dead Space is one of the best sci-fi horror games of the past two decades. So it’s remake… pretty hotly anticipated.

Next-gen graphics are making this game already look absolutely epic, even if we didn’t get to see that much of it. Or get a release date. We can’t wait.

Apex Legends: Emergence

Another launch trailer for another expansion pack – this time it’s for the battle royale game Apex Legends. Haven’t heard of Apex Legends? It’s a free-to-play game where you play as one of a roster of ‘Legends’. Basically fighters with their own personality, strengths and abilities. Your Legend then joins a squad, duking it out against other players to be the last squad standing.

Emergence is an upgrade on the base game. If the trailer’s anything to go by, new legend Seer looks awesome, especially rampaging his way through Emergence’s new landscape. Plus, there are new ranked arenas and battle royale modes to try.

Apex Legends: Emergence is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5 on 3 August.

Lost in Random

Lost in Random is the latest game from EA Originals – a publisher set up by EA specifically to champion independent studios and creators. That, along with its selection at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2021 meant we knew we were set to see something fresh and exciting. And the Lost in Random gameplay trailer didn’t disappoint. If you’re into eccentric but delightful story-telling and art, this game is probably up your street. Think dark fairy tales, steam punk, Tim Burton, all that jazz.

Lost in Random is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5 on 10 September.

Knockout City

Time to play ball! EA announced detail of the dodgeball game’s second season: Fight at the Movies. A ton of new stuff will be added like new balls, new maps, new rewards for League Play and more.

Knockout City: Fight at the Movies is available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PS5 on 27 July.

The Sims 4 Cottage Living

Fans of the life-simulator game The Sims 4 got a welcome update on the latest expansion pack, Cottage Living with a new reveal trailer. Now you and your Sims can finally escape to the country properly in an all-new neighbourhood, Henford-on-Bagley. If the name didn’t already give it away, Henford-on-Bagley is based on your classic British chocolate box village.

The reveal trailer showed off all kinds of new gameplay, build objects and create-a-sim content. There are even new pets for you to fall in love with, like cows, chickens and even llamas. If you love all things cottage core and have always wanted to build the ultimate Sims farm, EA have got a treat for you.

The Sims 4 Cottage Living expansion pack is available now for PC.

Now there are even more games to get on our wishlist!
