How do I set up my Apple Watch?
First things first, let’s set up your Apple Watch. It’s pretty straightforward:
1. Turn on your Apple Watch by pressing and holding the side button until the Apple logo appears.
2. Hold your iPhone close to your Apple Watch, and the pairing process will automatically begin.
3. Follow the on-screen prompts on your iPhone to pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone. You’ll need to enter your Apple ID and password, so have it ready.
4. Choose whether to set up your Apple Watch as a new device or restore it from a backup. If it’s your first Apple Watch, choose "Set Up as New Apple Watch."
5. Agree to the terms and conditions.
6. Enable location services and the Siri voice assistant (if you want them).
7. Create a security passcode.
8. Choose if you want to unlock your Apple Watch with your iPhone.
9. Select the apps you’d like to install.
10. Now wait for your Apple Watch to sync with your iPhone. It’ll only take a few minutes.
When the setup is complete, your Apple Watch will display the watch face. It’s now ready to use!
What does the Apple Watch do?
The Apple Watch is packed with advanced features to help you keep on top of your health and fitness, and lots more. Here are some of the best to look out for:
Fitness tracking. The inbuilt fitness tracker automatically monitors all your daily activity including steps taken, calories burned and distance travelled.
Health monitoring. You can keep track of your overall health and wellness, with features including heart rate monitoring, electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement, blood oxygen monitoring and sleep tracking.
Notifications. You can use your Apple Watch to respond to notifications from your iPhone, including text messages, phone calls and social media alerts.
Music controller. You’ve got the power to control your music playback on your wrist, whether it's playing on your iPhone or streaming from the likes of Apple Music.
An easy way to pay. The Apple Watch is equipped with NFC technology, so you can use it to make contactless payments using Apple Pay.
Siri. The Apple Watch comes with Siri, Apple's incredibly helpful voice assistant. Use it to set calendar reminders, check the weather, or ask any question that pops into your head. Siri has all the answers.
TV controller. If you have a compatible Apple TV, you can use your Apple Watch to control it. No more hunting for the remote!

The Apple Watch goes above and beyond to help you out in emergencies. It can detect if you’ve had a hard fall, and give you the opportunity to contact emergency services if needed. It also has a crash detection feature, which automatically connects you with emergency services if you’ve had a car crash.
