VR fans rejoice! The PlayStation VR2 is the highly anticipated follow up to the original PlayStation VR – and it’s finally here! It’s set to take the world of VR gaming to the next level. So why is it such a step up? Building on the success of the first PS VR, the PS VR2 gives you loads of new features and upgrades that make VR gaming that much more immersive.

One of the first things you can’t miss on the PS VR2 is its new stunning display. Two 4K OLED displays give you sharp visuals, and that epic refresh rate (up to 120 Hz for you gaming fans) makes the action smooth and lifelike. And that wider field of view gives you a panoramic view – so your head will stay in the game.

The PlayStation VR2 has IR cameras that track your eye movements, so graphics get more detailed when you focus on something. These next-level tracking abilities capture every move you make, so you play with precision and feel like you’re having a real impact on the virtual world.

And you won’t want to explore open worlds unless you feel comfortable doing it. That’s why the PSVR 2's Headset has been redesigned to make it more comfy. With adjustable straps and better weight distribution, there’s way less chance of strain and tiredness during gaming marathons. You can also customise everything to fit you perfectly – including the lenses, scope and headband. There’s no one size fits all here.

Sight and movement are only one part of making your game more immersive. Sound is incredibly important too. That’s why the headset also includes integrated high-quality headphones with rich and spatial sound, powered by Tempest 3D Audio. But if you already have some trusty headphones that you don’t want to part with, they can be plugged into the 3.5 mm jack too.

There are already loads of PS VR2 games to pick from, and the library grows all the time. New releases will soon join the fold, developed to take advantage of the powerful new PlayStation VR 2 headset. The PS VR 2 price launches at £529.00 but there are also bundles available – so you can enjoy an immersive adventure straight out of the box. For added extras, look to the PS VR2 Sense Controller Charging Station - which lets you quickly charge up your controllers so you can jump back into the action.

The Playstation VR2 is powered by the mighty PS5. And taking notes from the new PS5 controllers, the Playstation VR2 gets its own controller upgrade – the VR2 Sense. Think adaptive triggers, haptic feedback and finger touch detection – so you get more responsive control.

And you get to play your way. Set your play area and you can play with Roomscale (which needs 2x2 metres of free space), stand up or sit down. And to check you won’t bump into anything, See Through View lets you see the world outside without taking off your headset.
