What exactly does the Oura Ring do?

The Oura Ring is like your very own personal health coach. And just like any regular ring, you pop it on your finger. It tracks your sleep, physical activity and body signals (like stress) to help you make healthier decisions. You'll even get a look at your body temperature, heart rate and respiratory rate too. Hopefully, you’ll be able to understand your body better and get a handy picture of your current health.

Is there a monthly fee for the Oura Ring?

There isn’t a monthly fee for the Oura Ring itself. Once you buy the ring, it's yours to use! But, to get the most out of its cool features, there is a membership you can buy. It gives you access to advanced data and custom recommendations. Don’t have the spare cash? Don't worry, it's not mandatory. You can still use the Oura Ring’s basic features without subscribing.

Can you use an Oura Ring without a membership?

Yes. Like we’ve mentioned above, you can use the Oura Ring without a membership. And you'll still get plenty of useful info out of it too. You'll be able to see all of your basic stats in the Oura app without spending any extra cash.

What's the difference between the Oura Ring 4 vs Oura Ring Gen3?

The Oura Ring 4 and Oura Ring Gen3 are both great smart rings. Like any newer bit of tech though, one has a few extra bells and whistles compared to the other. The Oura Ring 4 is the latest model, packing in a brighter display, improved sensors (for better accuracy) and a comfier design. If you’re always picking up the latest and greatest tech, this should be your go-to. On the other hand, the Oura Ring Gen3 still offers a lot of the same features, just with a slightly older look and feel. If you haven't got as much to spend, then this one's a no-brainer.

Can an Oura Ring be used for contactless payments?

Not at the moment. It's built to focus on your health and wellness - meaning you won't be using it to pay for your morning coffee or that big weekly shop. Who knows though, future updates might bring new features. Stay tuned!

Can I charge my Oura Ring without its charger?

No, you'll need to use the charger that comes with it. The ring uses a special charging dock that fits the ring perfectly, which helps it to charge properly and safely. While you can't charge it without the special dock, the Oura Ring has a really long battery life. So, you shouldn't need to charge it every single day. Just make sure to keep the charger handy, and you’ll be good to go when it eventually needs a top up.
