There’s something in the air. That’s because Apple’s just unveiled not one, not two, but three brand new products this week. Their latest MacBook Air, iPad Air, and even a fresh Mac Studio featuring M3 Ultra — the highest-performing chip they’ve ever created.

Here’s all you need to know about Apple’s latest and greatest tech…

Affordable new MacBook Air with M4 chip

Apple has given us lots of reasons to love their new MacBook Air. For starters, it comes equipped with their rapid M4 chip, which makes it up to two times faster than the M1 model. And up to a whopping 23 times quicker than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air.

And like all of their latest devices, the 2025 MacBook Air is built for Apple Intelligence — a suite of amazing Ai features that help you write, create, and be more productive. Apple say the M4 chip “accelerates AI-based tasks”, so you can enhance photos, remove background noise from videos, and more in less time.

Here are even more reasons why the 2025 MacBook Air looks like Apple’s best lightweight laptop yet:

  • 12MP Centre Stage camera: The latest MacBook Air has a sharp new camera that not only boosts video quality, but keeps you centred in the frame as you move. Hence the name! It supports Desk View too, which shows both you and a top-down view of your desk. Perfect for sharing DIY projects or work presentations.

  • Enhanced external display support: Apple’s new MacBook Air is made for those who love to spread their work out, capable of supporting up to two 6K external monitors.

  • Up to 18 hours battery life: If you’re planning on upgrading from an Intel-based MacBook Air, you’ll get six more hours out of the latest spec model.

  • All-new ‘sky blue’ colour: Apple’s introduced a metallic light blue option for its 2025 MacBook Air, which creates a stunning gradient effect when light reflects off it. Alongside the midnight, starlight, and silver hues, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to colours.

  • macOS Sequoia: The new MacBook Air comes with Apple’s latest operating system, which offers loads of exciting features. iPhone Mirroring that lets you wirelessly interact with your iPhone and its apps directly from your Mac. And its new Passwords app stores all your passkeys and credentials in one easy place.

What’s more, the 2025 MacBook Air starts from just £999. That’s £100 less than before. And you get to pick between the same two sizes — 13 inches or 15 inches.

Set up the new MacBook Air with your iPhone

Apple has revealed that from next month, macOS Sequoia will help you get started on a MacBook Air with your iPhone. Just place it nearby, and you can quickly sign in to your Apple Account to transfer files, photos, messages, passwords, and more across for a seamless set up.

iPad Air with M3 chip, plus a new Magic Keyboard

Next up is the 2025 iPad Air — boasting an M3 chip that’s geared up to run nifty new Apple Intelligence features. Like the Clean Up tool, which can remove photobombers in your pics with just a tap. Or grab an Apple Pencil (sold separately), quickly sketch something in the Notes app, and Image Wand will turn it into a polished picture in seconds.

But the M3 chip also brings Apple’s advanced graphics architecture to iPad Air for the first time. So if you love gaming, you’ll get to enjoy more accurate lighting, reflections, and shadows in your fave titles. And M3 is almost twice as fast as M1-powered iPad Air tablets. Which means you’ll feel the speed of M3 in everything you do, not just running graphics-intensive games.

There are a few extras that can get the most out of the new 2025 iPad Air too:

  • New Magic Keyboard: The latest iPad Air Magic Keyboard (starting from £269) offers a bigger and more precise trackpad. And its new 14-key function row lets you quickly adjust brightness and volume settings.

  • Apple Pencil Pro support: Just like the previous M2 iPad Air, the updated M3 model works with the awesome Apple Pencil Pro. It’s the best Apple Pencil you can buy, with super low latency and a squeeze function that lets you quickly switch tools to save time. It pairs up with the budget-friendly Apple Pencil USB-C too.

The latest iPad Air also comes supercharged with iPadOS 18. It’s got loads of great features, including a new Audio Recording and Transcription function which can capture any lecture or conversation. Perfect for students! And if you’re a maths whizz, you can now use an Apple Pencil to solve expressions in the Calculator app.

Apple’s new iPad Air starts from £599 for the smaller 11-inch model. While the larger 13-inch tablet will start from £799. You also get to choose from four finishes — blue, purple, starlight, and space grey.

There’s a new standard iPad too…

Apple’s updated their iPad with the new A16 chip, which is nearly 30% faster than the previous generation. And you get double the starting storage too (128GB) for even better value. Prices for the 2025 iPad start from just £329.

New Mac Studio: the most powerful Mac ever

Apple’s latest Mac Studio, dubbed “the most powerful Mac ever made”, sounds like an absolute dream for music makers and graphic designers. It’s packed with plenty of top features to help you tackle big workloads and connect seamlessly with external hardware. All in a compact design that lives right on your desk.

The Thunderbolt 5 ports are a huge upgrade, which offer transfer speeds up to three times faster than the previous gen. These make the 2025 Mac Studio feel super fast when working with files stored on external hard drives. And if you’re a music producer, you’ll get to record with much lower latency through an audio interface.

But the coolest thing about the new Mac Studio is that there are two versions. The base model comes with the M4 Max chip, which is up to 3.5x faster than the original M1 Max version. Making it an absolute workhorse for video editors, photographers, or anyone who wants amazing speed and power. Or, you can go all out with the M3 Ultra model

M3 Ultra: Apple’s highest-performing chip

The new M3 Ultra chip is the most powerful CPU and GPU Apple’s ever made. Making the Mac Studio with M3 Ultra the ultimate Apple computer for taking on the most demanding workflows. It can run almost twice as fast as the M4 Max chip in the base Mac Studio. And it can support up to a staggering 512GB of RAM, which is the most ever in a personal computer. Wowzers…

Apple’s impressive fleet of new products won’t be shipping until 12 March 2025. But you can pre-order the new MacBook Air, iPad and iPad Air, or Mac Studio from Currys right now.
