We were big fans of Kingdom Come: Deliverance when it launched back in 2018. The medieval epic was as historically accurate as they come, giving you an entire kingdom to explore.

Now, with KCD II, the action RPG is back for another stab at it - packing in more knights, battles, plague and political scheming than you can shake a war hammer at. Our protagonist Henry returns from the original too, hot on the trail of the evil general who turned his life upside down.

To get you ready for life in 15th century Bohemia, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know. From the upcoming release date and pre-order info to the weapons you’ll be wielding, foes you’ll be facing and more.

What is the Kingdom Come: Deliverance II release date?

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II bellows a war cry and charges onto PC and consoles on February 4, 2025. So, sharpen your sword and polish your armour - because you haven’t got long to prepare for battle.

How much will Kingdom Come: Deliverance II cost?

The game’s not going to cost you a king’s ransom. You can bag a copy at Currys for only £52.99 on console and £49.99 on PC through Steam. What are you waiting for? Grab your coin pouch and head to the nearest merchant.

Can I pre-order Kingdom Come: Deliverance II?

Yes! And you can get your pre-order in right now. Plus, you won’t just be able to dive into your quest on release day. We’ll also knock 10% off the price with code KINGDOM10 at checkout. Very nice.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II platforms

KCD II is set to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/Series S and PC. If you’re on Nintendo Switch – or living in the dark ages (pun very much intended) with a last-gen console – then you won’t be able to play Warhorse Studio’s latest medieval adventure. Time for an upgrade maybe?

How to play Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

You’ll be dropped straight into an open-world medieval land packed with towering fortresses, dark forests and rowdy taverns. Playing as Henry, you’ll explore them in first-person, getting up close and personal with life in ye olde days. Don’t get too close though. You don’t want to catch the plague…

While you ride or march from place to place, you’ll have to sneak, persuade and duel your way past your enemies. And how you approach your objectives is really up to you. Plenty of quests come with multiple endings, and your actions will impact how people react to you. So, choose wisely. Because those decisions might come back to bite you later on.

But Medieval Europe wasn’t the most peaceful place. And there’ll be times where fighting your way out is the only option. Combat here is modelled on actual fighting styles from history, making it pretty technical and hard to master. You’ll have to carefully time your counters and parries, then strike back with a chain of combos to come out on top.

Make sure to visit the forge when the battle’s over. If your favourite axe breaks, it’s gone for good. Give it a bit of TLC before it gets completely battered and you’ll be cracking skulls with it for years to come.

How many hours of gameplay will Kingdom Come: Deliverance II have?

The first game in the series was absolutely massive. And with KCD II, the size and scope has got even bigger. The devs have confirmed that it’s twice as large as KCD I. And will probably take you about 100 hours to polish off the main story and finish up all those side quests. With a script containing roughly 2.2 million words, we’re really not surprised.

Who are the main characters in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II?

From nobles to knights, peasants to priests, KCD II has a big cast of colourful characters. Here are just a few of the faces you’ll encounter on your journey…

  • Henry – Our main character had a pretty rough experience last time round. After enemy forces attacked his village and killed his family, Henry swore revenge on those responsible. Joining the resistance, it’s up to him to push back the invaders and save those closest to him.

  • Markvart – Like any good story, you’re going to need a villain or two. Markvart was the man responsible for murdering Henry’s parents in the first Kingdom Come game. And he’s back for more mayhem and mischief this time around.

  • Godwin – Father Godwin isn’t your regular man of the cloth. For one, he likes a drink (or five). And while he might not look it, he’s a dab hand with a sword. Holy moly!

  • Hans – This dashing Bohemian noble is Henry’s best pal. With a taste for the finer things in life - along with a carefree attitude that gets him into trouble – Hans is exactly what you’d expect from the son of a lord. But he’s also an exceptional archer whose legendary accuracy is the talk of the realm. Robin Hood eat your heart out.

What are the different Kingdom Come: Deliverance II game mode options?

You won’t be travelling with a squire at your side here. KCD II doesn’t have a multiplayer mode and is a single-player experience through and through. So, when you’re galloping through the hills late at night, you better watch your back. We’ve heard there’s bandits preying on people passing through.

What Kingdom Come: Deliverance II features are player customisable?

It wouldn’t be a proper RPG if you couldn’t customise your character, would it? You’ve got a whole blacksmith’s worth of gear to choose from here. Pick a full set of plate armour with a two-handed sword, and you’ll be an unstoppable walking tank. Or stay nimble with a cloak and crossbow and ambush your opponents from the shadows with a sneak attack.

However you decide to play, you’ll level up your skills as you use them. So, the more you swing that mace in battle, the better you’ll be at wielding it.

These skills go hand-in-hand with a new perks system. When you unlock a perk, you’ll get a unique trait to try out. That could be a technique for distracting some guard dogs or the ability to smooth talk your way past soldiers protecting a castle entrance. Our personal favourite is Berserk Mode. It does exactly what it says on the tin, upping your power and aggression to levels that’d scare even a Viking.

Stay up to date with all the epic quests coming soon and check out our upcoming games page. We’ve got all the latest info on what’s hitting Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox consoles later this year. Oh, and there might even be some discounts codes for you too.
