Virgin Mobile APN settings

Here's how to get your smartphone connected and start browsing the web.

If you're trying to access mobile internet or send multimedia messages on the Virgin Mobile network. This guide to APN settings will help you get your kit connected so you can browse the web, use email, and send MMS messages.

Android APN settings for Virgin Mobile

Here's how to manually add the Virgin Mobile internet settings on an Android phone:

  1. Open Settings from the Home screen.

  2. Tap Wireless and networks or More (this depends on your Android version).

  3. Tap Mobile networks > Access point names.

  4. Tap the Menu button (this could be the lower-left soft key, 3 dots in the top right corner, or the word 'more').

  5. Tap New APN.

Then type the following:

  • Name: Virgin Internet

  • APN: goto.virginmobile.uk

  • Username: user

  • MMSC: http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk:8002

  • MMS Proxy: 193.30.166.2

  • MMS Port: 8080

  • Authentication Type: PAP. If you're given a choice of APN types, select internet+mms, or if the keyboard appears, the * symbol.

And then you’re nearly done:

  1. Tap Menu > Save.

  2. Pick the name we've just created.

Next to your signal bars, you'll now see 4G, 3G, H, E or G. This shows you're now connected.

iPhone APN settings for Virgin Mobile

If your iPhone isn't downloading the Virgin Mobile settings automatically, here's how to add them manually.

  1. Tap Settings > Mobile/Cellular Data.

  2. Tap Mobile/Cellular Data Options.

  3. Tap Mobile/Cellular Data Network.

  4. Enter the information below:

Mobile or cellular data settings:

  • In the APN box, enter goto.virginmobile.uk

  • In the Username box, type user

MMS settings:

  • APN: goto.virginmobile.uk

  • Username: user

  • MMSC: http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk:8002

  • MMS Proxy: 193.30.166.2:8080

  • MMS Max Message Size: 1048576

And you’re nearly done:

  1. Press the left arrow at the top of the screen 3 times.

  2. Press the Home button.

To make sure these settings have worked, look next to your signal bars. 4G, 3G, E or GPRS shows you're now connected.

Windows 10 mobile APN settings for Virgin Mobile

Your Windows phone should connect to the web automatically, but if you're having problems, follow these steps to manually add the APN settings. The settings are different depending on the version of Windows you're using.

  1. Swipe the screen from right to left. This opens your apps list.

  2. Tap settings > wireless and networks > mobile + SIM.

  3. Tap SIM settings > + add an internet APN.

Then type the following:

  • Profile name: Virgin Internet

  • APN: goto.virginmobile.uk

  • Username: user

  1. Tick the box next to 'Use this APN for LTE' then tap save.

  2. You'll now see 4G, 3G, H, E or G at the top of the screen. This shows that you've connected successfully.

  3. Tap + Add MMS APN.

Type these settings:

  1. Profile name: Virgin MMS

  2. APN: goto.virginmobile.uk

  3. Username: user

  4. Proxy server: 193.30.166.2

  5. Proxy Port: 8080

  6. MMSC (URL): http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk:8002

  7. Maximum MMS size: 1048576

  8. Scroll to the bottom and tap Save.
