If you like the idea of having 500,000 movies and TV show right in front of you to choose from, you’ve made a great choice with your JVC Android TV.
It’s also the first JVC TV with Google Assistant built-in, so you can control it with your voice. It makes using the TV so simple - simply talk into the remote control and tell it what to do!
Can’t find your remote control? No worries. You can also connect your JVC Android TV to your Google Assistant-enabled device, and control your TV with your voice from anywhere in the room. No searching for the remote required! If you like the sound of doing that, here’s how to connect your JVC Android TV to a Google Assistant-enabled device in a few simple steps.
How to connect your JVC Android TV to a Google Assistant-enabled device
First things first. Make sure your JVC Android TV and Google Assistant-enabled deviceare connected to the same Wi-Fi network, so they can recognise each other and communicate. Simply go into the settings section on each device and check the Wi-Fi name is the same for each (well done if you’ve taken the time to give your Wi-Fi a memorable name).
Done that? Good. Now let’s give you the power to use your voice to control your TV with help from Google.
1. Go to SETTINGS - NETWORK & INTERNET and turn WOW on. This stands for ‘wake on wireless network’.
2. Now make sure that the Chromecast built-in is active. To do this, go to SETTING – APPS - SEE ALL APPS - SHOW SYSTEM APPS and select CHROMECAST BUILT-IN.
Now it’s time to link your JVC Android TV to your Google Assistant-enabled device …
1. Open the Google Home app on your smartphone.
2. Check that you can see your Google Assistant-enabled device and JVC Android TV in the app.
3. If you’ve changed the name of your TV in its settings, make sure it has the same name in the app.
Your two devices should now be linked up.
Things to try when you’re set up
If you’ve followed the steps above, congratulations! You can now start controlling your JVC Android TV with your voice through the Google Home Speaker.
Ready to try it out? Here are a few things to say:
“Hey Google, switch on <TV name>.”
“Hey Google, turn the volume up on <TV name>.”
