Venting hobs – sometimes known as a vented hob – are gas, induction, or ceramic surfaces with a built-in extractor fan. This fan sits in the middle between the two parts of your hob. So, you’ve essentially got yourself a stove and extractor all in one.

The powerful fan sucks in smells and smoke and runs it through a system of filters. Then, depending on how yours is set up, it’ll either shoot it all outside, or recirculate the air once the bad stuff has been extracted. Pretty smart. Getting rid of these unwanted vapours and smells will help to improve the air quality in your kitchen, leaving it smelling fresh as a daisy. And it’ll stop food related grime from settling and building up on your cooktop. Keeping it nice and clean in the process.

But why are they better than your standard extractor fan? Well, there are a bunch of reasons. Firstly, they’re a lot quieter than other appliances. And they don’t just sound good. They look the part too. As there’s no massive exterior fan, they slot right into your work surface and blend well with the room. They look especially good as part of an island. If you’re all about your kitchen aesthetics, this is the appliance to go for.

A vented induction hob has loads of practical benefits as well. Because they’re flat, they’re super easy to clean. So, you won’t be craning your neck trying to remove any muck. You’ll thanks us later.

You’ll even be able to cook properly with larger pots and pans. Venting induction hobs keep the heat on the hob, instead of sucking it right up and out (which can happen with traditional extractor fans). Heat is also more evenly distributed. Letting you set up a hotter part of the hob exactly where you need it. Dinner time just got way easier.
