If the inside of your freezer is resembling an igloo, it’s time to tackle the frost. Our guide will show you how - as well as offering some tips on how to clean a fridge.

How to defrost a freezer – top tips

  • Do it regularly: your freezer won’t work as efficiently if you let it get too frosty, so try to take action before this happens.
  • Plan in advance: schedule defrosting ahead of time, that way you can eat your freezer food rather than having to store it while you defrost.
  • Go carefully: be very cautious when chipping away at ice in your fridge freezer, as a little slip could see you hurt, or your freezer damaged. Use a plastic ice scraper or spatula (definitely don’t use a knife).
