The Amazon Kindle Kids is best for young readers and families who enjoy story time. With a library full of age-appropriate books and no app distractions, it keeps the focus on reading.
More stories, less searching. An included 1-year Kids+ subscription opens up thousands of books for readers aged 3 to 12. With so much to explore, it's easy to discover new favourites.
No interruptions. The distraction-free design focuses on reading. There are no apps, games, videos or notifications competing for attention, helping kids stay immersed in their stories.
Gentle on the eyes. The glare-free display reads like paper rather than a typical screen. It's comfortable to read outdoors in bright sunlight, in the car or curled up with a book at home.
Weeks between top-ups. The battery lasts for up to six weeks on a single charge, so there's less interruption when they're in the middle of a great story.
Extra help when they need it. Built-in tools help children tackle more challenging books. Definitions, adjustable text sizes and audio support can boost confidence and keep reading enjoyable.
Read it or hear it. Audible audiobook support lets kids switch between reading and listening without losing their place. Pair with Bluetooth headphones (sold separately) for listening on the go.
Keep tabs from afar. Parental controls let you monitor reading progress from your phone. You can suggest books, set bedtime reading hours and see which titles capture their interest.
Ready for everyday adventures. An artist-designed case comes included in the box, helping to protect the Kindle from bumps and knocks. The unique design also makes it easy to identify as their own.
Tech explained
E-ink technology works differently from a tablet screen. It reflects light like paper, making text easy to read outdoors, while using very little power between page turns. That helps the Kindle's battery last for up to six weeks.
