How do I sell my phone online then? Glad you asked! You’ll have to fill in all the details about your phone via our free online calculator. Choose the brand first – so, if you’re doing a Samsung trade-in, pick Samsung, and the same goes for an iPhone trade-in and so on. Then you’ll need to tell us the exact model too and whether you’ve had your handset for personal use or work purposes.

Finally, we’ll need to know everything about the condition it’s in. You can’t sell your phone to us if it won’t power on, is missing parts, has a swollen battery, or has any liquid damage. We also won’t take it if it’s over seven years old or it’s modified, jailbroken, or rooted. Sorry! Even if it’s not suitable for a trade-in, we can still help you out. Bring it with you to your local store for recycling and we’ll give you a fiver off your next tech buy. That’s all thanks to our Cash for Trash scheme which aims to keep tech waste out of landfill.

All finished filling out the form? Click confirm and we’ll show you a rough price of how much we’ll give you for it. If you’re happy with the number, you’re nearly done sorting your trade-in. Don’t forget this part though – it’s pretty important stuff. Once your phone’s with us (and if you haven’t done so beforehand), we’ll delete any data that’s left on it. So, make sure you’ve got all your holiday snaps saved somewhere else. Otherwise, they’ll be gone forever.

Follow the instructions on screen to finalise your online trade-in. Need us to pick up your phone from your house? We can do that. Or maybe you’d prefer to send it to us instead? That’s made easy thanks to our free postage option. Once it drops through our letterbox, we’ll check it inside and out for any problems. Then, if the phone seems to be ok, we’ll tell you and sort out your payment. The money can then take around three to five days to clear and arrive in your account. It’s really that simple.

If you’d rather do your trade-in in person, that’s fine as well. Just pop down to your local Currys store with your trade-in valuation. And remember to take your phone! Once you’re there, speak to one of our friendly in-store experts. They’ll have a good look at your phone to make sure it’s alright for a trade-in.

If you get the thumbs up, we’ll sort out your payment there and then. It’s really that simple. When that’s sorted, you’ll get a gift card loaded up with all the money. You can then put your cash towards that next epic piece of tech you’ve been eyeing up. Good call.
