So, you’ve got yourself a brand-new Meta Quest 3 headset. And now you need some cracking virtual reality games to play. Well, you’re in luck. We’ve rounded up some of the best Meta Quest 3 games out there, from epic RPGs to brain bending puzzlers. Whatever you’re into, there’s definitely going to be something on our list you’ll want to try…

Dungeons of Eternity

Grab your axe and armour up. Bristling with an arsenal of medieval weapons and deadly spells, you’ll explore crumbling tombs and dark dungeons. But to make it out with the loot, you’ll have to go toe to toe with skeletons, ghosts, and other mythical beasts. No pressure then.

The deeper you delve, the better treasure you’ll find too. Which you’ll need to upgrade your gear – letting you face tougher and tougher enemies. And that shiny new equipment will definitely come in handy for the hectic boss battles. They’re no joke.

You don’t have to fight alone though. In multiplayer, you can party up with two other adventurers to push your way through each level. Combining your abilities, swords, and sorcery to take on the demonic hordes.

Beat Saber

Remember Guitar Hero? Well, this is basically that, except you’ve got a couple of blades instead of a Fender Strat. Sign us up!

You’ll slash away at colourful blocks that are flying at you. But you’ll need to do it perfectly in time with the beat to get a place on the leader board. And that’s going to require some razor-sharp reactions. Especially if you want to get top spot.

Plus, the pounding EDM soundtrack makes it a proper workout. So, you’ll actually get a sweat on. And can finally tell your mum that see, video games are good for you.

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

If you’ve got your friends or family over, then this game is the bomb. Literally.

One of you puts on the headset and takes on the role of the bomb disposal expert. While the rest of your group has to use a manual to find out and relay crucial info. We’re talking what buttons to press. Which order to do it in. And of course, which wire to cut. No, not the green one!

If you do everything by the book, you’ll successfully defuse the bomb. If you don’t, well, things are about to go boom.

The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners

Use your brains to strike back against the zombie onslaught. As a survivor trapped in New Orleans, you’ll scavenge through the city hunting for supplies. Deciding when it’s time to fight. And when it’s time to run!

With fire axes, baseball bats, pistols, shotguns – and some super cool makeshift weapons – you’ll take down the infected roaming the streets. But they’re not the only threat. Gangs of human raiders patrol the area too. And they’re just as (if not more) deadly than the zombies. So, keep your eyes peeled.

Every action has a consequence as well. Do you save an injured man who’s surrounded. Or do you leave him to his fate? Whatever you decide, you’ll have to live with your choices. As every single one will affect the people of the city in completely different ways.

BAM!

BAM! takes full advantage of the Quest 3 and its mixed reality mode. And if you want to go head-to-head with your mates, it’s the ultimate multiplayer party game.

Just set up the virtual tabletop arena to get started. That could be on your coffee table. In the dining room. Or on the kitchen worktop. As long as you’ve got a flat surface somewhere, you’re good to go. Then, make the battlefield as big or small as you want and start playing.

With a tiny robot, you’ll compete in loads of fun minigames. There’s Seize the Crown – where you’ll have to hold onto it for as long as possible to reign supreme. And Lose the Bomb. Which is exactly what it sounds like. Don’t be lumped with it when the timer hits zero, or your chances of winning will go up in smoke!

Vader Immortal

This is actually a trilogy, but we’re going to force it into our list anyway…

On the fire world of Mustafar, you’ll rise from humble smuggler to deadly Jedi Knight. And you’re not going solo, oh no. With ZO-E3 for company – your handy droid companion – you’ll have to hone your new powers and lightsaber skills to defeat the Empire. It’s a good thing those Stormtroopers can’t shoot straight.

But they’re the least of your worries. Eventually, you’ll have to pit your wits against the dark lord himself, Darth Vader. Clashing with the Sith’s poster boy in a saber duel is absolutely epic. Just make sure you get in the swing of things first and hit the Lightsaber Dojo for some training. You’re going to need it.

Asgard’s Wrath 2

In Asgard’s Wrath 2, you’ll have to track Loki through the deserts and ruins of ancient Egypt. And as he’s the Norse god of mischief and trickery, he’s not going to be easy to find…

With a massive open world to explore you’re going to have to look in every nook and cranny. And not everyone’s going to be friendly. Using a mix of magic, ranged and close quarters combat, you’ll face off against towering gods and unholy monsters in thrilling battles. Gulp.

But there’s a cool way to level the playing field. By converting animals and mortal heroes to join your side, you can team up and take down the big bads. And it’s not all just about brawn. You need to use your noggin to progress too. Puzzles on a massive scale will sometimes block the way. So, hopefully all those hours of sudoku will finally pay off…

Things are about to get even better too. You’ll get Asgard’s Wrath 2 completely free when you buy a Meta Quest 3 headset. Woah!*

*Asgard’s Wrath 2 is intended for mature audiences. Offer ends 27/1/24 terms apply. Eligibility and auto-renewal terms apply for trial subscriptions. See full terms. Click here for full T’s and C’s.

LEGO Bricktales

In LEGO Bricktales, you can build and play with virtual LEGO in your real-life living room. And because it’s a mixed reality title, you’ll still be able to see the sofa while you create something cool on it. Clever stuff.

With devious puzzles set across different LEGO dioramas – from tropical islands to medieval castles – you’ll literally design the solutions to complete them. And the only limit is your imagination! Everything you make will have to be built brick by brick without any instructions too.

So, you’re going to have to get really creative. And there’s not necessarily one right way to solve each puzzle either. The builds span the sensible (like a construction crane) to the downright whacky (gyrocopter anyone?) – but how you create them is completely up to you. We hope you brought your toolbox.

The best of the rest

  • Pavlov Shack – In this team based tactical shooter, you’ll squad up and eliminate the bad guys with realistic guns and gear. Lock and load!

  • Red Matter 2 – You’re an astronaut. And you’re stranded on a lunar base during a dystopian cold war. Uh oh. Explore the facility, solve puzzles, and navigate obstacles to find out what on earth’s going on.

  • Resident Evil 4 – The horror classic makes its way to VR. Can you save the president’s daughter and escape the creepy Spanish castle alive?

  • Little Cities – Create your very own city from the ground up. Place roads, buildings, and tourist attractions to customise every detail. Just try not to cause too many traffic jams.
