Grab your bat and strap on your pads! Cricket 24 swings its way onto PlayStation and Xbox consoles, plus gaming PCs and laptops on October 5 2023. If you’re on the Nintendo Switch though, you’ll have to put your patience to the…..test. It hits the handheld a little bit later on November 30 2023.
How much will Cricket 24 cost?
The standard edition comes in at £49.99 on all platforms. And considering most new games nowadays are usually about 20 quid more, we’re bowled over by the price! From what we can see, it doesn’t look like the devs are planning any bonus or limited editions either.
Can I pre-order Cricket 24?

Cricket 24 platforms and crossplay
You’ll be able to play Cricket 24 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Series S, Nintendo Switch and on Windows PCs via Steam. That’s nearly a cricket team’s worth of consoles right there.
What’s more, the game has crossplay support. So, if you’re playing on Series X, but your friend has a PS5, you can still go head-to-head. Australia vs England? Pfft, that’s no rivalry – PlayStation vs Xbox is where it’s at.
How to play Cricket 24
In Cricket 24, you’ll bat, bowl, and field your way to glory – taking charge of a whole team (with men and women sides to pick from), or going solo as just one member of the squad.
After a whole lot of constructive feedback on Cricket 22, the devs have completely redone the fielding system. And it’s paid off big time. It’s even more authentic and responsive, letting you make those quick reactive catches from slip. Or accurately hit the stumps with a long throw to run out one of the opening batsmen.
How many hours of gameplay will Cricket 24 have?
As many hours as you want it to! Because every Twenty20, one day international and test match is different, there’s great replayability here. It’s got wayyyy more hours of gameplay than a months long test series, that’s for sure.
Which teams, tournaments and stadiums are there?
The game’s got more official teams, players, stadiums, and tournaments than you can shake a bat at. And that makes every part of Cricket 24 as lifelike as possible. But let’s start with the batsmen and bowlers that’ll make up your squad. Over 300+ of them have had their actual likeness scanned into the game. So, you’ll see Moeen Ali’s majestic beard in all its glory. Or Jofra Archer’s chain bobbing about as he hurls a fast ball down the wicket.
Australia. England. West Indies. New Zealand. These are just a few of the titanic cricket nations you can take charge of. But can you do it on the biggest stage? Managing them in 50 of the world’s most famous stadiums – including iconic venues like Lords and The Oval – isn’t going to be easy. Especially when you’ve got to take that vital final wicket in front of a buzzing home crowd!
You’ll be challenging for silverware in a load of licensed championships too. Face off against the Aussies in the Ashes – the biggest event in the cricketing calendar. Or, if you prefer your club cricket, smash as many sixes as you can in the latest fast-paced format of the sport, The Hundred.
