Intel have announced the next step in their graphics – Intel Arc – specially designed for serious AAA gaming.
So let’s dive into what we know, and when we might be seeing Intel Arc laptops…
What’s the difference with Intel Arc?
Intel say that Arc graphics are ‘designed for super-charged gaming and cutting-edge content creation’. It means we’re going to see some seriously lightweight gaming laptops. Bulky setups that are a pain to take on the go? Not with Intel Arc.
What’s it like to game with Intel Arc?
We haven’t had the chance to get our hands on an Intel Arc laptop (yet) but Intel have partnered with loads of game studios so that new games are optimised for Arc gaming. That includes games like Elden Ring and Ghostwire:Tokyo.
When can I get Intel Arc?
Intel Arc 3 laptops are coming first (and soon!) with Arc 5 and Arc 7 to follow later this year – we’ll keep you updated when they’re on their way.
Intel Arc 3 is a step up from integrated graphics like Intel Iris - perfect for on-the-go gaming. Arc 5 and 7 are going to be for bigger titles and smoother graphics.
Is Intel Arc only for laptops?
Nope. Well, for now yes, but Intel have already announced a Limited Edition PC graphics card. All we know so far is that it has dual fans and a beautiful white LED Intel Arc logo. More to come on that this summer.
