New games coming to Xbox Game Pass for February
It’s a great month to be on Game Pass! Here are some of the amazing games you should download now ready to play on release…
Far Cry New Dawn (cloud, console, PC)
What? An open world shooter adventure from the long-running Far Cry franchise.
Why should you play it? What if a nuclear bomb had been dropped in Far Cry 5’s Midwest setting? That’s what Far Cry New Dawn is all about. It’s Far Cry meets Fallout, so expect mutated animals, plants and humans aplenty. As well as a vibrant, radioactive colour palette. And this might be the most customisable Far Cry yet, since you can customise your character, weapons, vehicles and more! You can also take on the special expedition missions with friends.
When? Available 4 February.
Another Crab’s Treasure (cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S)
What? A soulslike adventure set in an underwater kingdom.
Why should you play it? This may look like a cutesy Finding Nemo style adventure for kids, but it’s anything but. Taking on the role of a hermit crab called Krill, your mission is to find a new shell, trade-in trash for upgrades, complete some platforming challenges and defeat evil. Fans of the Soulslike genre should love this one: Die and you drop your amassed points, take on a boss before you’re ready and you’ll get flattened. But, unlike hardcore Souls games, there are some accessibility options that make it a bit more inviting for new players.
When? Available 5 February.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes (cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S)
What? A slick, stylish and classic JRPG (Japanese Role Playing Game).
Why should you play it? If you like JRPGs, levelling up a group of characters and turn-based combat, this one’s a no-brainer. Hundred Heroes manages to take the classic pixel look and seamlessly set it in a fully 3D world. There’s a huge, vibrant world to explore and a great selection of characters to recruit from, so you build your perfect team. Also, you get your own castle!
When? Available 5 February.
Madden NFL 2025 (cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S)
What? The latest entry in the massively popular American Football franchise
Why should you play it? For fans of the wrong type of football, this this is just about the ultimate game. Manage teams, become your favourite player, win the Super Bowl and grab for glory. You can do anything from a single player campaign right through to online competitions with friends and strangers.
When? Available 6 February.
Avowed (Cloud, console, PC)
What? An live action RPG from genre legends Obsidian.
Why should you play it? As a world already established in the Pillars of Eternity franchise, Eora is a fascinating place to explore - full of history and lore. In Avowed, you play an envoy from a distant land investigating rumours of a spreading plague. You can fight with swords, cast spells and all that fantasy goodness. While the world is large, it’s not an open-world Skyrim style experience. There’s plenty to find, but it’s a more focused, linear game.
When? Available 18 February.
