Bethesda has a serious legacy of putting out incredible games. Skyrim and Fallout anyone? So, when Xbox and Bethesda announced a showcase of new games, trailers and proper gameplay – people got understandably excited. Everyone was hopeful for Starfield (a space-based RPG that should be Bethesda’s next big game) as well as Forza news and maybe a few other key announcements. And we got all of that, as well as so much more. Like, a LOT more. So, let's jump into everything they announced and get excited for what might just be everyone's new favourite game.

Big game announcements

Let’s start with the heavy hitters, shall we?

- Starfield - 2023
The gameplay trailer for Starfield takes us to the year 2330, and we’re on Kreet – a moon of Anselon. Create a character, build outposts, unlock skills, and craft new tech to survive on missions around the galaxy. Best bit? Building, customising and improving your own spaceship.

-
Diablo IV
- 2023
We saw some gameplay as well as a full trailer for this iconic action RPG. With a new Necromancer class, you can customise your character and explore this demonic open world to take down Lilith.

- Overwatch 2 – Early access begins 4th October 2022
This iconic team-up shooter will be free-to-play from October, with new features as well as reimagined elements from the original. More to come soon, but it’s very exciting to have a confirmed date (and to know it'll be free!).

- RedFall – 2023
The trailer for this vampire open-world shooter opened the event. We got to see some early gameplay of RedFall, which is made by Arkane (the team behind Prey and Dishonored). If you like a good horror shooter, this looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. And it’s co-op!

- Forza Motorsport – Spring 2023
We got to see some stunning 4K in-game footage as well as a load of beautiful cars. With advanced rendering, dynamic timing, ray tracing and graphics that are designed for the Xbox Series S and X, Forza Motorsport is literally built to look as realistic as possible.

What else was announced?

- A Plague Tale Requiem – 2022
More rats, more plague, more of this great action adventure game.

- Ara: History Untold – No release date yet
The trailer for this didn’t tell us much, but this turn-based strategy game is going to take a look at how historical civilisations could have developed – under your control of course.

- Hollow Knight: Silksong – No release date yet
We were shown a brief trailer (with no hint of a release date) for this sequel to the well-loved platformer Hollow Knight. But Xbox did confirm that it would be available on Game Pass on its release day.

- ARK: Survival Evolved - 2023
First announced in 2020, we got a cinematic trailer of ARK 2, which will be quite different from the original, with more of a focus on melee combat and third person instead of first. We also got a look at a character based on Vin Diesel.

- Cocoon – 2023
We didn’t find out a huge amount about this puzzle adventure game, but we got to see a small amount of gameplay.

- Ereban: Shadow Legacy - 2023
With the ability to turn yourself into shadows, this stealth game is set in an apocalyptic robot-controlled world.

- Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn – Early 2023
Take on vengeful gods with a group of explosive experts.

- The Last Case of Benedict Fox – Spring 2023
Uncover a mystery in this beautiful yet creepy side-scroller set in 1925 with demons abound.

- Lightyear Frontier – Spring 2023
Farming. Robots. Beautiful planets. This peaceful farming game looks like a droid version of stardew valley (with beautiful graphics).

- Minecraft Legends - 2023
Defend the Overworld from the piglins, discover mysteries and take part in heroic battles.

- Ravenlok – 2023
Overthrow the tyrannical Caterpillar Queen and jump into this fairytale adventure.

- Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty – Early 2023
