It’s that time again – our round-up of all the games coming to Xbox Game Pass this month! Don’t know what Xbox Game Pass is? Let’s fill you in first. The ‘Netflix of gaming’, Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that gets you access to hundreds of games on Xbox, PC and Cloud. Add to that some extra DLC and perks, and you’ve got yourself a pretty sweet deal. For a more in-depth guide, check out Xbox Game Pass explained.

Now let’s see what gaming goodness July has in store for us…

New games

Dragon Quest Builders 2 – Cloud

We’ve talked about Dragon Quest Builders 2 before, but this time it’s coming to Cloud as well as PC and console. That means you’ll be able stream the game on your PC, tablet or phone!

This warm fuzzy hug of a game is all about – you guessed it – building. In this block-building RPG, your creative, puzzle-solving skills are put to the test to defeat an evil cult. Plus, there’s some combat thrown in there for good measure too!

Collect, grow and discover a ton of different resources to build your creations. And if you want to take a detour off the main story mode, go online and build in sandbox mode with up to 4 players.

Available now

Tropico 6 – Cloud, console and PC

Tropico 6 is a brilliant city management game, kind of like the Sim City franchise… but with a twist. You’re in charge of a fictional Caribbean island state, and it’s down to you whether it prospers or suffers. Control the buildings, industries, its look and how you treat your subjects. There’s a whole archipelago to manage in this instalment of Tropico, so there’s plenty of room to experiment!

Available now

UFC 4 – EA Play

UFC stands for Ultimate Fighting Champion, so you can probably figure out what you’ll be up to in this game! Live out your own UFC fantasies in a whole bunch of new locations – from underground arenas to backyard brawls. There are some new and improved moves making an appearance too, to make the fighting experience even more immersive.

You don’t have to fight strictly solo either. Online multiplayer modes like Blitz Battles will pit you against friends and strangers.

Available now

Going Under – Cloud, Console and PC

This game is completely nuts, but in a good way. This is a dungeon crawler, but instead of dungeons the map’s made up of failed start-ups that have sunk below the earth. And instead of monsters, you have the mutated ex-employees of those businesses. And instead of a sword wielding hero, you’re an unpaid intern. Your quest? Put them out of their misery, repossess their assets to give to your boss.

Combat is fun and hectic – any object you find can be used as a weapon. But Going Under’s main attractions are the jokes and satire. Don’t miss it.

Available now

Farming Simulator 19 – Cloud, Console and PC

Farming Simulator 19 does exactly what it says on the tin. Plant, harvest, tend and rear to your heart’s content while you oversee your very own farm. With more vehicles available than ever before too, you can bet your bottom dollar that there’s some great tractor action to be had. Or if you want to try something a little more homely, you can ride your horse around the farm.

New American and European environment, new crops and better graphics than ever before – what’s not to love.

Available 15 July

Bloodroots – Cloud, console and PC

Described as ‘one-hit kill die-retry murder ballet’, you’re free to use pretty much anything in your environment to chain unbelievable fighting combos against a torrent of enemies. This indie game basically never stops and, to be honest, you don’t want it to. The artwork on every level is awesome, the characters are kooky and your mission to get Mr Wolf’s revenge is definitely challenging.

Available 15 July

The Medium – Cloud

Horror, puzzles, terrifying monsters – what more could you want? In The Medium you are, well, a medium. This spooky ability lets you explore both the real and the spirit world at the same time, opening up new ways to move, attack and problem-solve.

Your medium capabilities also mean you see and hear much more than most. It’s up to you to unravel what happened at the Niwa resort, piecing together a story that others can’t. The art, the music, the story – it’s all designed to send shivers up your spine.

Available 15 July
