It’s an exciting time of the year for gamers. All of the big names in gaming are showing off their future projects, and over the weekend, Xbox had a lot to tell us about. Sunday’s Xbox Games Showcase ran for nearly two hours, with cool announcements coming left right and centre. Missed the stream? No worries. We’ve rounded up every single moment for you down below.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 – 2025

It wouldn’t be a proper Xbox event without a new COD. Ever since Microsoft acquired the franchise, it’s been a staple of their shows. The announcement here wasn’t like any Call of Duty trailer we’ve ever seen though. It was a full-on mind-melter, with trippy, dreamlike visuals and a real sinister edge. While we didn’t see any actual gameplay, it’s probably fair to say you’ll be wielding an arsenal of cutting-edge weapons in blockbuster battles. Sign us up.

Cronos: The New Dawn – 2025

One for the Dead Space gang out there. Bloober Team (the makers of the seriously creepy Silent Hill 2 remake) gave us another look at their sci-fi horror nightmare. You’ll be up against the Orphans – towering, fleshy monstrosities that’ll gladly make you their next meal. To complete your mission, you’ll need to venture deep into their nest and burn it to the ground. Thankfully, you’ll be armed to the teeth with laser pistols, shotguns and more to get the job done. Just watch your back.

Aphelion – 2026

A game made in collaboration with the European Space Agency isn’t something you see every day. But that’s Aphelion for you. And things are gonna get chilly. As the astronaut Ariane, you’ll traverse a deadly frozen tundra to save your wounded pal, Thomas. Like any good space story, it’s all about exploration of the unknown. There’s all manner of alien threats to dodge, and secrets to find beneath the ice. Survive. Complete the mission. And make it home.

Clockwork Revolution – TBC

Welcome to Avalon, a twisted, steampunk metropolis with serious Dishonoured/Bioshock vibes. The city is ruled over by the ruthless Lady Ironwood – a leader who will quite happily crush anyone who opposes her. But what’s this? You’ve stumbled upon the source of her powers. By altering Avalon’s past, she’s stacked all of the cards in her favour. Now, with the same time-travelling abilities, you’ll journey back to right her wrongs. And see how your actions change the fate of the city during the current day. It’s proper brain-bending stuff.

Beast of Reincarnation – 2026

When the Game Freak logo popped up on our screens, we were excited. The minds behind the Pokémon video games obviously have a lot going for them. And we got a first glance at their new IP, Beast of Reincarnation. You’ll step into the shoes of Emma the Sealer, travelling through a devastated post-apocalyptic version of Japan. Oh, and you’re humanities only hope from extinction too. Good luck!

There Are No Ghosts at the Grand – 2026

You’ve been left a hotel in your father’s will. And the Ritz this ain’t. Move from room to room to solve special restoration puzzles and give the Grand a much-needed lick of paint. Oh, and did we mention the ghostly goings on? The hotel’s got a spooky past, and you’ll uncover the secrets hidden in its walls as you play.

Planet of Lana 2: Children of the Leaf – 2026

If you can be-leaf it, we’re getting another Planet of Lana title. And it seems like those iconic, colourful graphics are back too. As are another race of dastardly mechs. The bots have invaded, and they aren’t exactly friendly. To escape, you’ll cross lush forests, explore the oceans’ depths and navigate chilling mountaintop passes.

Mudang: Two Hearts – 2026

We don’t know about you, but we’ve been missing the Splinter Cell series big time. Luckily, Mudang: Two Hearts seems like it might scratch the same itch. Mashing together stealth gameplay with full on firefights, we reckon you’ll be able to approach missions however you see fit. But where Splinter Cell was fairly grounded in reality, Two Hearts adds in some pretty terrifying looking horror elements. Definitely keep an eye on this one.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (Winter 2025) & Final Fantasy 16 – out now

Xbox gamers haven’t been able to get stuck into some of the best Final Fantasy games on their console. Until now that is. You can literally play Final Fantasy 16 as we type this. And Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade follows hot on its heels, with its own release this winter. We can’t wait.

Persona 4 Revival – TBC

JRPG fans are living their best life at the moment. And with the reveal of Persona 4 Revival – the long-awaited remake of Persona 4 – their weekends are about to get even better. Only thing is, we haven’t got a solid release date yet. So, we could be waiting a while!

Hollow Knight: Silksong – 2025

It’s been a long time since the last Hollow Knight game. So, it was a pleasant surprise to see a very brief snippet of gameplay during the reveal of the ROG Xbox Ally consoles (more on those later). Apparently, it’ll be a launch title for the device during the holiday season. And of course, it’ll be landing on Game Pass day one too. Lovely.

Aniimo - 2026

It’s not Pokémon, but you can definitely see where Aniimo gets its influences from. In this free-to-play creature catching game, you become a Pathfinder. The objective – to collect, evolve and then join with strange creatures known as Aniimo. Done that? It’s time to explore dungeons and other dangerous locations, all while battling the environment and other players.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4 – July 11, 2025

We already knew we were getting remasters of the classic skate titles. What we didn’t know however, was that you’ll be shredding half pipes and nailing kickflips as The DOOM Slayer and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Yep, really. It’s a crossover we didn’t know we needed until now.

At Fate’s End – 2026

If you like your action on the thoughtful side – with a wicked art style thrown into the mix – At Fate’s End might be just your cup of tea. This 2D side scroller blends combat and platforming into a beautiful, cartoon-like world. And with a heartfelt tale of two estranged sisters, this one might get you right in the feels.

Ninja Gaiden 4 – October 21, 2025

Grab your blade and armour up. Ryu Hayabusa’s quest continues later this year in Ninja Gaiden 4. And the gameplay is looking just as hectic as we remember it being. You’ll tear through colossal bosses and a legion of mythical nasties in brutal, bloody combat. But button mashing won’t get you far here. You’ll need to have lightning-fast reaction times to finish off each level and progress the story.

Grounded 2 - July 29, 2025

Grounded 2 follows up on Obsidian’s small-time survival hit. And when we say small, we mean literally. Shrunk down to just a spec, you’ll have to brave the wilds of backyard suburbia, with the action moving from the garden to the local park. To stay alive, you’ll have to craft all kinds of weapons and kit – which you’ll need to fend off the creepy crawlies searching for a snack. Not every critter is out to get you though. Hop on a friendly ant and turn it into your very own mount. That’s one way to even the odds!

Invincible VS – 2026

Take Mortal Kombat and throw in a few superheroes, and that’s Invincible VS. This 3v3 tag fighting game is based on the super popular comic and animated series. So, you’ll be battling it out with Omni-Man, Bulletproof, AtomEve and loads of other familiar faces. And boy are those fisticuffs ferocious. You’ll have to unleash bone-crushing combos and devastating powers to overcome your enemies. Throw in a final Super or Ultimate finishing move, and you’ll be knocking each foe into the middle of next week.

Age of Mythology Retold: Heavenly Spear – Autumn 2025

We’ve played as the Greeks, Egyptians and Vikings. Now we’re off to Japan. In Heavenly Spear – the latest expansion for Age of Mythology: Retold – you’ll be taking charge of gods and monsters from Japanese folklore. Crush other civilisations in strategic top-down battles and order your samurai troops to victory. And if we don’t get to deploy a few sneaky ninja or two, we’ll be very, very disappointed.

Keeper – October 17, 2025

If you’ve ever fancied playing as a sentient lighthouse, well, now you can. Double Fine are one of the most creative studios out there, and Keeper looks like another experimental story that’ll really, ahem, shine. You can dive into its magical world later on this autumn.

High on Life 2 – Winter 2025

The first High on Life was whacky to say the least. I mean, fighting back against an alien invasion force with talking guns is definitely pretty out there. Its sequel picks up straight after your victory over the Martian menace, and things aren’t getting easier. After a shady character from your past puts a bounty on your sister’s head, it’s up to you to protect her at all costs. No pressure then.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy – 2026

Rats, rats, and more rats. The scuttling rodents were the stars of the previous two Plague Tale titles. And with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, there’s a good chance they’ll be back for another nibble. In this prequel, you play as Sophia, a plunderer on the run. Washing up on the shores of Minotaur Island (probably not somewhere you’d want to go on your summer hols), you’ll have to unravel its untold mysteries to get out in one piece. Like the classic minotaur myth, there’s a deadly maze stuffed full of traps and tricky conundrums to solve. And, if you remember the tale well, a half-man, half-bull like beast that’ll do anything to keep you out.

Sea of Thieves Season 17: Smugglers’ Tide – August 2025

The swashbuckling series keeps on growing. And a whole season of fresh content sets sail in just a few months’ time, bringing with it a boatload of new voyages, loot, weapons and more. ARRR you ready?

Super Meat Boy 3D – 2026

The stakes are high here (or should we say steaks?) Team Meat’s meaty mascot returns for another punishing run through all kinds of deadly obstacle courses. This time, in glorious 3D! And you’ll die. A lot. Repeatedly. You’ll be leaping through gaps, sliding down walls and dodging meat grinders. So, make sure your timing is on point – otherwise, you’ll end up as a pile of mince. With fast respawns on short levels, it seems ideal for a quick pick up and play sesh.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants – September 4, 2025

Our whip slinging explorer is back for a brand-new adventure. This DLC pack sees Indy explore beneath the bustling streets of Rome, searching for another mysterious artifact. You’re not the only one looking for it though. The Cult of Mithras – an ancient order shrouded in secrecy – have their eyes set on it too. Expect more brutal fistfights, tricky puzzles and precise platforming sections.

The Outer Worlds 2 – October 29, 2025

Obsidian have been super busy, as this is the second title of theirs on our list. Like the first installment, the Outer Worlds 2 brings back the same first-person sci-fi RPG adventuring that we loved back in 2019. But that’s where the similarities stop. Recruit a new crew, wield new weapons and vanquish unseen enemies in a totally new colony. The decisions you make – and the factions you side with – will completely change the fate of the settlement. So, choose wisely.

ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X - Late 2025

We’ve been hearing rumblings of an Xbox handheld for a while now. And Sunday’s stream gave us our first proper look at not just one, but two shiny new consoles. The Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X run on a special version of Windows 11, and let you play all your faves on the go. We’ll have a full breakdown of Microsoft’s handheld duo in a few days’ time. So, keep your eyes peeled for that.

2026 and beyond

2025 looks pretty good for Xbox fans, right? Well, 2026 is set to be just as great, if not better. Towards the end of the showcase, Xbox head honcho Phil Spencer had a bit more to say about the console’s big hitters. And there’s plenty of them coming next year.

It looks like we’ll be getting our hands on the latest installments in the Forza and Fable franchises, plus Gears of War: E-Day – a prequel set before the events of the first game. Oh, and gamers are wondering about “the return of a classic that’s been with us since the beginning”. Our money’s on Halo, surely.
