If you’ve got a JVC Fire TV, you’ve opened up a world of entertainment for your family. With Amazon Fire TV built-in, you’ve got instant access to all your favourite streaming services including Prime Video, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Disney+, All 4 and lots more. It’s all at your fingertips – or on the tip of your tongue, if you use Alexa.
Alexa is the JVC Fire TV’s voice assistant, built-in to the remote control, ready and waiting to help you search for the best shows and control the TV. Simply talk into the remote and tell it what to do. And if even that sounds like too much hard work (admit it, you can never find the remote when you need it) we’ve got some great news. You can easily connect your JVC Fire TV to your Alexa enabled speaker, giving you the power to control your TV with your voice, from anywhere in the room. No remote required!
There are two easy ways of connecting your JVC Fire TV to your Alexa enabled speaker. You can do it online using a web browser, or you can use the Amazon Alexa app. We’ve got the details for both methods below.
How to connect your JVC Fire TV to an Alexa enabled speaker using a web browser
Your JVC Fire TV and Alexa enabled speaker need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network to speak to each other, so it’s worth checking this before you get started.
Switch on your TV and go to SETTINGS – DISPLAY & AUDIO – POWER CONTROLS - TURN ON TV WITH OTHER DEVICES and select ON. Doing this allows your Alexa enabled speaker to automatically turn on your JVC Fire TV. Now you need to link your TV and Alexa speaker together…
On your computer or mobile device, open your web browser and go to alexa.amazon.com. If you’re not already signed in, enter your login details.
Go to MUSIC, VIDEO & BOOKS. Under the VIDEO section, click on FIRE TV.
Click LINK YOUR ALEXA DEVICE. This will display the PICK YOUR FIRE TV screen, so tick the TV you want to link your Alexa speaker to.
