Discover our range of vented tumble dryers
Forget about putting your damp clothes on the washing line outside. That’s because with a vented tumble dryer, you can easily dry your garments indoors and not have to keep checking on the weather! Our selection of vented tumble dryers includes models from top brands like Logik, Montpellier, and Hoover that’ll make light work of your laundry.
Whether you're looking for a small 7kg vented tumble dryer that can easily fit in your kitchen or utility room, or a big 10kg vented tumble dryer that can get large loads dry — we’ve got you covered.
What are vented tumble dryers?
Vented tumble dryers use hot air to evaporate moisture from your clothes, which is then pushed out of the machine via a hose and expelled through an external wall vent. This feature makes them slightly cheaper to run than condenser models. However, vented tumble dryers are not suitable for every home, and you may need to allow for installation costs if you don't already have an external wall vent or suitable window. There also aren't as many models available if you're looking for an integrated vented tumble dryer to fit into your kitchen. But if you have a separate utility area, then this type of tumble dryer can be a cost-effective option. Because there's no need to empty any containers, vented tumble dryers are a great choice if you want a low-maintenance option.
How does a vented tumble dryer work?
A vented tumble dryer works by drawing in air from the room, heating it up, and then blowing it through the drum where your clothes are spinning. The hot air absorbs the moisture from your laundry and is expelled through a tumble dryer vent hose to the outside. This process gets your clothes dry quickly and efficiently.
What's the difference between vented and condenser tumble dryers?
When it comes to choosing between a vented and a condenser tumble dryer, it's important to understand the differences. A vented tumble dryer blows the hot, moist air it produces through a vent hose that you must ensure is hanging out of an open window or going through a wall vent. So, it’s important to think about where it’s going to go before deciding to buy.
Condenser and heat pump tumble dryers, on the other hand, are designed to collect the moisture in a reservoir that you can empty. This means you can place them almost anywhere in your home, as they don’t have hoses that need to go outside. But heat pump and condenser dryers are generally more expensive than vented tumble dryers, although they can save you money in the long run as they’re more energy efficient.
