LiDAR stands for Light Detection and Ranging. The robot uses a sensor that scans the room in all directions, creating a detailed map of your home as it moves. It helps it understand where walls, furniture and obstacles are located so it can move freely around them. Once the map is created, SmartPath Max Navigation plans an efficient cleaning route. Rather than moving around randomly, the robot cleans methodically in row-by-row lines to cover more floor space and reduce missed spots.
