What is Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s release date?
You’ll be able to wield your copy of Granblue Fantasy: Relink on February 1st, 2024. Which must be a relief if you’re a loyal fan, as the game has been in development for years.
In fact, the first public gameplay for Relink debuted all the way back in 2017 — with the official title announced a year later. And after PlatinumGames left the project in 2019, along with a delayed release date, Cygames finally got Relink over the finish line for an early 2024 launch.
How much will Granblue Fantasy: Relink cost?
Granblue Fantasy: Relink Standard (Day One) Edition will cost around £54.99 for PS5, PS4 and Windows. Which isn’t bad, as it looks like you’ll be getting a lot of game for your money.
Can I pre-order Granblue Fantasy: Relink?
Digital pre-orders are available on the PlayStation and Steam stores. If you fancy a physical copy instead, you can pre-purchase Granblue Fantasy: Relink - Day One Edition for PS5 from Currys right now with free UK delivery.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink platforms and crossplay
As we mentioned, Granblue Fantasy: Relink will be playable on PS5, PS4 and PC. Sorry Xbox and Nintendo Switch players — you’ll have to get your fantasy kicks elsewhere.
Cross-platform play will only be available for PS5 and PS4 players. So, if you’ve got a PS5 and a couple of mates running PS4s, then you’ll get to team up and take on the toughest enemies the Sky Realm has to offer. You just won’t be able to partner up with a friend on a PC.
How to play Granblue Fantasy: Relink
Granblue Fantasy: Relink is an action-packed RPG that’ll really capture your imagination. Your character comes from a humble and remote island, but one day, discovers a strange letter left behind by their father. This sets you off on a quest to find Estalucia, the fabled island of the old gods (the Astrals) which is said to float beyond the end of the skies.
As you travel through the blue expanse with your crew, you’ll take on quests and fight ferocious Primal Beasts that guard the islands of the Zegagrande Skydom. These huge, monstrous warriors were created by the Astrals to fight in an ancient war — with survivors falling into centuries of slumber. You better batten down the hatches, as they’ll unleash their almighty powers when awakened!
Just don’t forget to use the clever party-based mechanics to defend yourselves. Sync up your moves with your allies to use devastating ‘Link Attacks’ and ‘Chain Bursts’ that’ll turn your enemies into dust. Teamwork makes the dreamwork.
How many hours of gameplay will Granblue Fantasy: Relink have?
You’ll be flying through the great skies and battling bosses for hours on end in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. According to rumours, it’ll take about 20 hours to complete the main story mode. But when you throw in all the side quests, you’ll be looking at around 40 hours.
Want to complete everything the game has to offer? You’ll have to slash, shoot, and hex your way through about 80 hours of gameplay. Especially as when you beat the main story — you’ll unlock a bunch of extra quests.
What are Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s main factions/characters?
There’s a huge cast of colourful characters to meet in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. You’ll sail with your hand-picked crew of four, who’ll always have your back when the going gets tough. Each skyfarer boasts unique weapons and fighting styles, and the key to victory lies in assembling the right combination of skills for “maximum battle potential” — according to Cygames.
Your crewmates will also be joined by a scrappy little dragon called Vyrn, and Lyria — a young girl who possesses mysterious powers. You’ll get to read her journal whenever you need some guidance, which is filled with writings on the world's peoples, places, and more.
Speaking of, you’ll be docking at various islands populated by different races on your travels:
Humans: The most common people whose influence stretches far across the isles.
Erunes: Easy to spot from their large ears and beauty. Many possess magical powers, too.
Harvins: They’re small, but very smart. Don’t underestimate a Harvin!
Draphs: Tall and powerful beings with large, sharp horns. They’re proud to show off their strength.
We’ve already mentioned those perilous Primal Beasts, but you’ll have other adversaries to defeat too. Like the ‘Pilgrims of Avia’ — a secretive organisation of fighters who’ll try to stand in your way at every turn. Make sure to reach Estalucia before they do, or the world will plunge into darkness…
What Granblue Fantasy: Relink features are player-customisable?
Whether you’re playing online or offline, Granblue Fantasy: Relink lets you build your own four-person party to traverse the skies with. Each of these characters has a “talent tree” that they can learn new abilities from, along with interchangeable weapons. You’re the captain, so you call the shots on your ship.
What are the different Granblue Fantasy: Relink game mode options?
If tricky, fast-paced combat isn’t for you — Granblue Fantasy: Relink features some neat ‘Assist’ modes to keep you in the game. So, if you’re more of a greenhorn than a skipper, these modes can give you a helping hand no matter what your skill level is.
Will Granblue Fantasy: Relink have a multiplayer mode?
You can complete solo quests in Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s ‘Story Mode’ with a CPU party backing you up. But you’ll get the most out of your adventure with the help of your friends online in ‘Quest Mode’, with Relink offering up to 4-player co-op. There are more than 100 quests waiting to be tackled, so team up to defeat those treacherous enemies and collect rare items to bolster your weapons arsenal.
