Deadpool is all set to break more than just the fourth wall - he’s stepping into virtual reality! Marvel’s Deadpool VR is coming exclusively to Meta Quest headsets, giving you the chance to wield his signature katanas, crack jokes mid-battle, and unleash mayhem in true ‘Merc with a Mouth’ style.

If you’ve ever wanted to feel what it’s like to be Deadpool, this is surely as close as you’ll get. Here’s everything you need to know, from the release date and gameplay to the story, characters and how to get ready.

What is Marvel’s Deadpool VR release date?

The date was announced at Gamescom 2025 back in August. You’ll be able to pull on the red suit from 18th November 2025. That should give you plenty of time to prepare your Meta headset - and maybe start practising some sword skills!

How much will Marvel’s Deadpool VR cost?

There’s no confirmed UK price yet, but based on the US store listing of $50, it’ll likely be around £40-£45.The game will be a digital download through the Meta Quest Store, so make sure you’ve got some credit ready for release day. Meta gift cards are available from Currys in £15, £25 and £50 amounts.

Can you pre-order Marvel’s Deadpool VR?

Not at the time of writing, but you can add it to your wishlist on the Meta Quest Store. That way, you’ll get an instant notification when pre-orders or downloads open. There’s no need for you to keep checking back.

Marvel’s Deadpool VR platforms

Marvel’s Deadpool VR is a Meta Quest exclusive, designed specifically for the Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S headsets. There’s no word yet on whether it’ll ever come to PS VR2 or PC VR. So for now, it’s strictly a Meta title.

How to play Marvel’s Deadpool VR

Marvel’s Deadpool VR puts you directly behind the mask. Literally, because you’ll see everything through Deadpool’s eyes. And you’ll be using the Quest’s motion controls to slice, shoot and dodge your way through waves of enemies.

Combat looks like a blend of stylish swordplay and chaotic gunfights, with plenty of freedom to approach fights however you like. There’s also a healthy dose of Deadpool’s trademark humour, breaking the fourth wall mid-battle and commenting on your every move.

Beyond the combat, there’ll be environmental puzzles and set piece missions that make the most of VR - think dodging debris in slow motion or teleporting across arenas.

What’s the story about?

The game’s set in Mojo’s twisted reality TV dimension, where Deadpool’s been dragged in to take part in the most dangerous “show” ever produced. Mojo, for anyone not up to date on their Marvel lore, is a villain obsessed with entertainment - the more violent, the better.

He’s captured Deadpool and thrown him into a series of deadly, over-the-top scenarios, all being broadcast across the multiverse. Of course, Deadpool being Deadpool, he’s not exactly playing along quietly.

Expect plenty of gags and ridiculous action sequences as Deadpool fights to shut Mojo’s show down. And yes, probably make a few self-aware comments about being in a video game while he’s at it.

Who are the main characters in Marvel’s Deadpool VR?

Alongside Deadpool, a bunch of Marvel’s most notorious faces make an appearance. So far, confirmed characters include:

  • Mojo. Your main antagonist, a powerful TV producer from another dimension with a flair for drama and danger.

  • Omega Red. A mutant supervillain with retractable tentacles and a serious attitude problem.

  • Mephisto. The demon himself, who’s bound to add some supernatural chaos to the mix.

  • Lady Deathstrike. A deadly assassin with cybernetic claws and a long-standing grudge.

There are also hints of cameos from other Marvel characters - possibly from Deadpool’s comic and film circles - but nothing officially confirmed just yet.

What are the different Marvel’s Deadpool VR game mode options?

At launch, Marvel’s Deadpool VR will focus on a single-player story campaign. While there’s no sign of co-op or multiplayer modes (yet), there will likely be challenge missions or bonus levels designed for replaying and perfecting your combat skills.

What weapons and customisation will be in Marvel’s Deadpool VR?

Deadpool’s trusty dual katanas and pistols take centre stage, but you’ll unlock more weapons and gadgets as you play - from explosive devices to high-tech melee tools.

The combat system encourages creativity: mix melee with ranged attacks, improvise mid-fight, and pull off combos that would make even Wolverine raise an eyebrow. You’ll also be able to upgrade weapons and abilities as you progress.

How many hours of gameplay will Marvel’s Deadpool VR have?

An official play time hasn’t been revealed yet, but expect a lengthy single-player campaign with multiple missions and boss fights. Given Twisted Pixel’s previous VR games, we’re predicting several hours of gameplay, plus plenty of replay value if you fancy mastering every level or unlocking every weapon.

How can I buy Marvel’s Deadpool VR when it comes out?

When Marvel’s Deadpool VR launches, you’ll need credit on your Meta Quest account to download it.

A quick and easy way to top up is with a Meta Gift Card, available from Currys in £15, £25 and £50 amounts. Just redeem one to your Meta account, and you’ll be ready to grab Deadpool VR the moment it drops.

You can also use your balance on other top Meta titles like Batman: Arkham Shadow, Beat Saber, Superhot VR or Asgard’s Wrath 2 - perfect if you want something to play while you wait for Deadpool to drop!
