So, you’re an expert on the Rainbow Road, or maybe you’re ready to share your best moments in Hyrule. It’s pretty straightforward to screen record and stream from your Switch. Let’s go through the basics…
What do I need to stream?
Well, the most essential streaming kit you need is a Switch. Specifically, a Switch or Switch OLED – it’s not possible to stream from the Lite because you need the dock. A capture card is an essential bit of tech.
It’s worth considering if you want to be visible on your stream. If you do, a camera is pretty key, as is a mic. If you want to really go to town, how about adding a greenscreen or ring light?
Set up to stream your Switch:
Before you’re ready to show off your gaming highlights, there are a few steps to follow to connect everything up:
- Plug your Switch into its dock
- Connect your capture card to your PC using a USB cable and to the dock using HDMI
- Connect your PC to your TV using a HDMI cable
- Download and install a streaming app (there’s loads of free options out there)
And then you’re ready to go!
