Bumblebee is back for some more heavy metal action. But this time, the pressure’s really on. Mandroid and his Henchbots are searching high and low for ancient Cybertronian tech that’s been scattered across the globe. And when they find these artefacts, they’ll use them to wreak havoc on Earth’s biggest cities. So, crack out the WD-40 and oil those squeaky joints - because you’ll need to reach them first to scupper their plans. No pressure then.
To get you prepped for your expedition, we’ve put together a mini guide containing everything you need to know. From the release date and pre-order info to the Decepticon slaying gameplay and epic combat combos. Those robots won’t know what hit them…
What is Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition’s release date?
The Autobots roll out onto PC and consoles on October 13 2023. So, get ready to completely transform your autumn of gaming from so so to woah – it’s going to be a good one.
How much will Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition cost?
When it comes to your wallet, getting Bumblebee’s latest adventure definitely won’t sting. You can pick up the game for just £34.99 – and it’ll cost exactly the same across every single platform. Considering most games are about 70 quid nowadays, that’s a game changing price!
Can I pre-order Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition?
You sure can. Pre-order your copy right now and it’ll fly, swim, and race it’s way straight to your front door in time for release day. Ok, maybe it’ll actually just come in the back of a Royal Mail van. But still, it’ll be there faster than Bumblebee’s souped-up sports car!
Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition platforms and crossplay
You’ll be able to play on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S and through Steam on PC. So, every kind of Transformers fan can get in on the action.
There isn’t any crossplay here though, so you’ll have to wrench yourself away from that one mate over on Xbox who always saves your skin during a fight. We Bumblebee-lieve in you though!
How to play Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition
In Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition, you’ll explore an open world – switching between Bumblebee’s bot and vehicle forms – to hunt down ancient relics. It’s not going to be a walk in the park though, oh no. You’ll have to punch, shoot, and kick your way past an army of Henchbots, leaving smouldering hunks of junk in your wake.
You won’t be entirely alone though. The legendary Optimus Prime is there to guide you. Which you’ll definitely need when you come face to face with some of Transformers’ nastiest villains in epic boss battles. They’re like Robot Wars arena fights on steroids. Just without Craig Charles screaming from the sidelines.
And when you’re done scrapping, you might want to take Bumblebee for a quick MOT afterwards. Hopefully all those scratches are going to buff out…
How many hours of gameplay will Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition have?
While we don’t have an exact number right now, this is an open world game. And like most open world games, it’s packed full of enemies to fight, missions to complete and secrets to discover. So, we reckon it’ll take prime spot on your console for a while!
Who are the main characters and factions?
The transformers franchise is packed with tons of wild and whacky machines:
Bumblebee – with a yellow and black paintjob - hence the name - Bumblebee might be small, but he packs a real punch (literally). He’s super-fast too, especially when he takes it up a gear and transforms into a sports car. After being damaged in a scrap though, he has to talk through snippets of sound taken from the radio. Sounds like a lot of effort to us…
Optimus Prime – the powerful leader of the Autobots, Prime is a wise and inspirational mentor to Bumblebee and co. Wielding energy weapons, his legendary Ion blaster makes quick work of any Decepticons that try to take a chunk out of him. And when he needs to hit the road, he can transform into a massive semi-truck.
Mandroid – he’s a man. He’s an android. He’s Mandroid! The head of the Henchbots is on a mission to become the ultimate evil cyborg and destroy Earth’s cities. And he’ll stop at nothing to reach that goal. Can Bumblebee throw a spanner in the works?
Autobots –they’re the good guys. These heroic robot fighters can transform into vehicles, weapons, and other deadly forms to battle back against the Decepticon horde. They’ll do anything to uphold peace and freedom and will protect humanity with their lives.
Decepticons – the arch rivals of the Autobots. Decepticons are power-hungry robots who can also transform into different bits of deadly machinery. They want to conquer and control the world, using sheer force and aggression to dominate anyone who stands in their way.
Henchbots – no, this isn’t a bunch of robots who love to hit the gym. The Henchbots are the henchmen robots of Mandroid. You’ll go toe to toe (and wheel to wheel) with them across the course of your journey.
What are the different Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition game mode options?
There’s only the one mode here and that’s the fast paced single-player story. And it’s going to involve a whole lot of robot-on-robot destruction.
There are a few different mini modes in the open world itself though. If you’re fed up of whacking massive robots (which let’s be honest, we’ll never get bored of) you can always take Bumblebee for a spin instead. Time trials will test your racing skills, and like a bot out of hell, you’ll whizz round tight corners to try and land that gold medal finish. Even if you don’t quite make the podium, you’ll still have a wheely good time…
Will Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition have a multiplayer mode?
This is a single player only adventure. So, unfortunately you won’t be able to team up with your friends playing as other Autobots. Although how cool would that be? Maybe we’ll get some co-op clashes in an upcoming sequel.
What Transformers: Earthspark – Expedition features are player customisable?
While you play, you’ll unlock epic new combos and abilities. And you can use these to transform Bumblebee from a bumbling Autobot amateur into the ultimate fighting machine. Just don’t expect to give Bumblebee’s classic look a fresh lick of paint - it’s absolutely classic after all!
