Here’s your guide to getting rid of your old telly and grabbing a great deal on one of LG’s latest OLED models.

How to trade-in your TV for a new LG

We’re known for our trade-ins. And that generally means trading in your old tech in-store or online, but this LG offer works a bit differently. So, it’s worth spelling out how it works…

Online

Here are the simple steps you need to take to get up to £250 off online:

1. Pick which new LG OLED you want – you’ll see the options below.

2. At checkout, enter the code that matches the TV you want.:

For TVs from £649 - £998.80 enter code TRADETV50 for £50 off.

For TVs from £999 – £1,498.99 enter code TRADETV100 for £100 off.

For TVs £1499-£1998.99 enter code TRADETV150 for £150 off.

For TVs from £1999 and over enter code TRADETV250 for £250 off.

3. Make sure you select recycling too.

4. We’ll then collect the TV from your house. Just make sure it’s completely unplugged and ready to go.

In-store

If you’d rather talk to a colleague in person, then just pop instore with your old TV. No need to remember any codes either. Our tech experts will talk you through the process. Easy!

LG C4 55-inch OLED evo 4K HDR Smart TV

This 55” LG C4 OLED TV uses self-lit pixels for perfect blacks and brilliant highlights. The a9 AI processor enhances picture and audio quality, even boosting older content with AI Super Upscaling. With webOS, LG's smart platform, you can put this TV through its paces with a massive choice of channels like Netflix and Disney+.

LG C4 65-inch OLED evo 4K HDR Smart TV

If a 55” isn’t quite big enough, then how about this 65” LG C4 OLED TV? Talk about upscaling! Its 120 Hz refresh rate is also great for gaming or fast-paced sports on that vivid 4K screen. And OLED Motion is there to keep the action fast. While Dolby Atmos makes it sound like you’re right there!

LG G4 55-inch OLED evo 4K HDR Smart TV

Picking the 55” LG G4 OLED is a very bright idea! The Brightness Booster Max makes this TV up to 70% brighter than other OLEDs, so you'll see more detail whatever the time of day. Because each pixel of its OLED display is individually lit, the contrast is perfectly balanced with 100% colour accuracy and sharp 4K detail. Running it all is the a11 AI processor, LG's most advanced processor yet. AI Director Processing makes sure the colour and picture of your fave movies is super authentic. But even older entertainment is given a makeover thanks to AI Super Upscaling.

TV screen size/distance calculator

So, you’ve found the TV you want, but is it better to go 55” or 65”? The question is – which size is right for your room? And are you going to be sat at the right distance to get the best from it?

As a good rule of thumb, it’s good to work out viewing distance before you pick a screen size. With a tape measure, note the distance from your spot on the sofa to where your screen will go. To find out the best viewing distance, you can use our simple equation:

TV viewing distance (in inches)/2 = recommended TV size.

That said, if you want a huge screen in a tiny room, we’re not going to judge!
