Ashley Mizuki Robins is determined to find out what happened to her parents. Over two unique stories, you’ll gather clues and solve crafty puzzles to uncover their fate. This game’s more about brains than brawn though. So, you’ll be using your noggin instead of your trigger finger to piece together the mystery.
Right, let’s get you clued up. Here’s everything you need to know about Another Code: Recollection. From the price and release date to the gameplay, pre-order info and more…
What is Another Code: Recollection’s release date?
You won’t have to dig through piles of evidence to work this one out. Another Code: Recollection launches on January 19, 2024, for Nintendo Switch. So, mark your calendars – because this one lands real soon!
How much will Another Code: Recollection cost?
We’ve done some sleuthing, and it looks like you can get your copy for just £49.99. And that goes for both the physical version and the digital one. Nice.
Can I pre-order Another Code: Recollection?
Absolutely. If you get on the case right now and place your pre-order, we’ll deliver the game to your door on release day. Prefer to go for the digital edition instead? Just grab an eShop gift card and top up your Nintendo account to download it from the Nintendo Store. You won’t have to wait for the postman either!
Another Code: Recollection platforms and crossplay
Another Code: Recollection is a Switch exclusive – and we suspect that PlayStation and Xbox players are going to be a tad jealous. There’s no plans for a release on either console further down the line (or any crossplay between the three). So, if you want to unleash your inner Poirot, you’ll have to make the switch!
You can even try before you buy too. Download the demo straight from Nintendo’s digital store and play the first chapter of the story free of charge. Then, when you’re ready to buy the full game, just transfer your progress over and start from where you left off. Simple.
How to play Another Code: Recollection
Another Code: Recollection is a full-on puzzle game. You’ll need to trust your investigative instincts to solve head scratching riddles and brain teasers. While clues you collect will need to be closely examined. There’s usually a lot more to them than meets the eye.
You’ll have to speak to people as well to learn the truth. And word to the wise, not everyone is going to be up for a chat. Listen carefully to separate fact from fiction and discover what’s actually going on.
And don’t forget about your trusty DAS too. The Dual ANOTHER System is an odd little handheld gadget with a trick up its sleeve. With it, you can snap any useful info you come across and reference it later on. This can be super handy when you’re stuck on a tricky puzzle or need to double check the relationships between certain characters.
Don’t worry if you’re still completely stumped either. Just switch on the optional navigation and hint systems to keep the case ticking over. We won’t tell anyone…
How many hours of gameplay will Another Code: Recollection have?
Loads! And that’s partly because you’re getting two games here for the price of one. Another Code: Recollection is a shiny modern remake that bundles together two Nintendo classics.
There’s Another Code: Two Memories – which hit the DS all the way back in 2005 – and Another Code: R – A Journey into Lost Memories – that launched on the Wii in 2009.
So, that means we have a rough idea of how much gameplay goodness there’s going to be. Two Memories took about 6 and a half hours to see and do absolutely everything. While A Journey into Lost Memories was a fair bit chunkier, clocking in at nearly 19 hours for the completionists.
It’s not only a bit of old school gaming nostalgia though. Both titles have been completely overhauled too. We’re talking upgraded visuals, new puzzles and voice acting, plus an updated soundtrack. Oh, and all those old environments are now fully explorable in 3D. Looking good!
Who are the main characters?
Here’s a bit more about our detective duo:
Ashley Mizuki Robins – 13-year-old Ashley is the star of the series. You’ll help her track down the secrets behind her mum and dad’s past. And finding those answers will take her from lush, deserted islands, to scenic camping spots.
D – A mysterious ghost with a big connection to Ashley (don’t worry, we won’t spoil the surprise), D is more friendly than spooky. And they’ll be a big help when it comes to solving each mystery.
What are the different Another Code: Recollection game mode options?
There are just the two single-player adventures to play through. And that’s no big mystery to us, as the originals were exactly the same! Like they say, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Will Another Code: Recollection have a multiplayer mode?
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to do your own Sherlock and Watson double act with a mate. This is a classic single-player only title. So, you’ll have to rely on your own wits to keep the investigation on track!
What Another Code: Recollection features are player customisable?
This is a pretty retro inspired release, where there’s not much in the way of customisation. So, gameplay is king here – and you won’t have to worry about upgrading your gear or maximising certain stats. All you’ll need is your brain. And maybe a notepad and pen for those really mind-bending puzzles!
