After being out of the tennis game since 2011, TopSpin is making its long-awaited comeback. And just like an old veteran pro, it might look like you remember, but it’s got plenty of new tricks up its sleeve.

To get you ready to hit centre court, we’ve put together a guide containing everything you need to know. From the top opponents you’ll be facing, to the fast-paced gameplay, multiplayer modes and more. Ready to cause a racket?

What is TopSpin 2K25’s release date?

2K are set to serve up TopSpin on April 26, 2024. So, get stretching and head to the practice courts – because you haven’t got long to prepare.

Can I pre-order TopSpin 2K25?

We’ve consulted Hawk-Eye, and it’s looking good – yes, you can! Plus, if you do pre-order, you’ll net yourself a load of extra goodies. The Under the Lights Pack gives you a new set of threads for Roger Federer and Serena Williams, while the Wilson Nightfall bundle includes even more customisation options.

You’ll be able to play in Night-Time Majors too, which is exactly what it sounds like – big matches when the sun’s gone down. Sounds ace.

How much will TopSpin 2K25 cost?

You won’t need your own Nike headband endorsement to get your hands on this one. For a slice of the action, TopSpin 2K25 costs just £60 on last gen consoles, £65 on current gen, and £50 on PC through Steam. Advantage gamers!

TopSpin 2K25 platforms and crossplay

TopSpin returns on just about every console out there. You’ll be able to play on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One and PC. Unfortunately, it won’t be coming to Switch though – sorry Nintendo fans.

Crossplay has been confirmed too. So, if you want to start your own tennis rivalry for the ages with a mate, it doesn’t matter what platform you’re playing on. Nice.

How to play TopSpin 2K25

There’s a lot to love here. Top Spin 2K25 puts a whole new spin on the sport. It’s a realistic tennis sim, recreating every part of the matchday experience, right down to the tiniest details. You’ll lob, smash, volley, serve and rally your way through intense matches, fighting for every game and set.

But your positioning and timing are going to have to be on point. A bar will flash up on screen during each shot you make. Mistime it, and you’ll blast the ball into the crowd. Nail it, and you’ll send a perfect drop shot looping over the net that your opponent will never get to.

You’ll be playing at some of tennis’ most iconic venues too. Wimbledon. Roland-Garros. The Australian Open. The US Open. They’re all here. And you’ll have to be at the top of your game to bring home the trophy! In all, there are 48 unique courts to compete on, and from what we’ve seen so far, it looks like they’re going to be a real smash hit with fans.

How many hours of gameplay will TopSpin 2K25 have?

Because this is a sports title, it’s incredibly replayable, so we wouldn’t want to put a figure on it. Every match is different, and your journey to the top isn’t going to be a quick one. After all, it’s going to take a fair few hours to become a Grand Slam champ! Better get cracking…

Who are the main players in TopSpin 2K25?

You’ll be able to pick from and play as more than 24 of the world’s best players. Whether that’s a tennis legend from the past, or a young up and comer. Here are a few of the big hitters we know about so far:

  • Serena Williams.

  • Roger Federer.

  • Andre Agassi.

  • Coco Gauff.

  • Frances Tiafoe.

  • Steffi Graf.

  • Carlos Alcaraz.

  • Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek.

  • Danil Medvedev.

  • Taylor Fritz.

Extra names will be revealed closer to launch, so if your favourite pro isn’t here just yet, please don’t do a Nick Kyrgios and smash your racket into tiny bits. Cheers.

Which TopSpin 2K25 features are player customisable?

Ever wanted to step onto the famous clay at Philippe-Chatrier? Now you can. You’ll be able to create and customise your own tennis star – known as MyPLAYER – from scratch. Tailor everything from your appearance to your playstyle and tweak every tiny attribute to become an unstoppable force.

Want to have an absolutely monstrous serve? Pump all your points into that. Prefer to tire out your rivals with knackering baseline rallies? Then stamina should be your go-to. Whatever you choose, gaining that competitive edge is key.

The better you get, the more you’ll unlock. Hire new coaches to improve your abilities. Or earn lucrative sponsorship deals and load up on gear from the biggest brands. It’s all up to you. Personally, we’ve got our eye on a pair of new Adidas sweatbands…

What are the different TopSpin 2K25 game mode options?

TopSpin 2K25 comes with loads of different game modes for you to take a swing at:

  • MyCAREER – Travel the world – from Paris to London - and dominate the court to become the next big name in tennis. But you’ll have to get past some of the most talented faces out there to climb the rankings and win the next Grand Slam. Can you handle the pressure?

  • TopSpin Academy – Need to brush up on your backhand? This training mode will test your skills with special drills and challenges. Oh, and you’ll even have John McEnroe coaching you from the sidelines (or just screaming at you when your technique’s a bit off). You cannot be serious!

  • Online multiplayer – Rally your mates and go head-to-head with them and other players in the online virtual World Tour. You’ll definitely want to win those all-important bragging rights…

  • Exhibition match – Play a one-off match (singles or doubles) against the computer or friends locally.
