Wreckreation gives you the keys to your very own motorsport playground. And the only limits are your imagination. So, it’ll need to be in top gear!
To make sure you’re ready to get behind the wheel, we’ve gathered up all the important details we can find. From the pre-order info and release date to the adrenaline fuelled gameplay and more. Let’s put the pedal to the metal…
What is Wreckreation’s release date?
Wreckreation races its way onto PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X/Xbox Series S at some stage during 2024. We haven’t got an exact release date just yet, but once we find out, we’ll let you know right away. So, keep those engines running – because you’ll be heading to the starting line soon.
How much will Wreckreation cost?
Way less than shelling out for your very own supercar! It looks like it’ll only cost £35 on any platform. Considering most games now are closer to £70, that’s an absolute steal.
Can I pre-order Wreckreation?
Pre-orders aren’t live at the moment. But we’ll update this page when it’s nearly time to hit the racetrack.
Wreckreation platforms and crossplay
If you’re still gaming on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One X – or use a Switch instead – we’ve got some bad news for you. Wreckreation takes full advantage of the extra oomph from the latest consoles and PC tech. So, if you want to play it, you’ll need to get your hands on either of those.
It’s definitely worth the upgrade though. It’ll be like going from a 2001 Peugeot 206 to a Ferrari that’s fresh out the factory!
We haven’t got any info on the crossplay side of things yet. But loads of online titles are starting to include it, so there’s a good chance it shows up here. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
How to play Wreckreation
Take an open world. Throw in some racing and building, then mash it all together. That’s Wreckreation. You’ll have your own 400 square kilometre driving kingdom to do whatever you want with. Turn it into a huge grand prix track and face off against your friends. Or live out your Hollywood stuntman fantasy. Smashing and crashing your way through bone-breaking stunts straight out of Fast and Furious.
What Wreckreation features are player customisable?
Pretty much everything. And when we say that we really mean it. After all, the game is literally built around you creating each part of your racing realm. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the stuff you can play about with…
The music – Wreckreation comes with 16 different radio stations that you can tune into - covering everything from heavy thrash metal to smooth jazz. Got your own special driving playlist? Then link up your Spotify account and pop it on while you cruise around.
The world – Build smooth city streets or bumpy offroad dirt tracks. Then throw in some moving obstacles, stunt ramps, loops and jumps to really test your skills.
The weather – Fed up with the rain? Traffic getting in the way of your next stunt? Add some sunshine and clear the roads with the press of a button.
The cars – Take tons of different vehicles for a spin – from muscle cars to ice cream vans. Then customise them with a new paint job, a spoiler, and a set of racing stripes. Everyone knows they make you go faster…
The game modes – You pick how you play. Set up a race to the next town or see how many flips you and your mates can do in a team trick event. The gameplay is completely down to you.
How many hours of gameplay will Wreckreation have?
This isn’t the kind of game you can slap a number on. There are literally endless hours of open-ended gameplay here. You can keep playing for as long as you want. And it’s super fun, so we don’t think you’ll suffer any burnout…
Will Wreckreation have a multiplayer mode?
You can invite your friends to compete head-on in high octane races, or team up to complete crazy challenges instead. Only one of you can become a Wreckord breaker though. Set seven different Wreckord types locked to specific parts of your world and see who can secure that top spot on the podium. Let the rivalry commence!
And if you fancy yourself as more of a designer than a racer, that’s cool too. You can share your motoring masterpieces with the rest of the Wreckreation community. Or, if you need a change of scenery, jump into someone else’s world, and see what they’ve cooked up for you.
