Colleagues remove old TV

We give your old tech a new life

We’re proud to be the nation’s number one retail tech recycler. On average, we recycle over 60,000 tons of e-waste every single year. So, you can trust us to get rid of your tech responsibly.

But why bother? A 2023 study by Material Focus found that “half a billion cheap electrical items go to UK landfills in a year.” While research from Uswitch highlighted that “the UK is the second-highest contributor to e-waste in the world, behind only Norway”. Those are some huge stats. And we know that we can make a big difference.

Colleague harvesting old tech for parts

We refurb and recycle big appliances

If your appliance still has some life in it, we’ll whisk it away so it can be re-loved by someone else. It’ll be cleaned from top to bottom, refurbished and then tested to make sure it’s safe.

Working with the Reuse Network, we’ve managed to help 93,000+ low-income families get their hands on refurbished white goods. And it’s saved a massive £17 million for these households so far.

If your appliance is looking a little worse for wear, our award-winning Parts Harvesting team will take it apart, and save the useful materials and components to help power the repairs of other bits of tech. Nothing gets wasted.

3
Packaging being recycled by colleagues

We also take your packaging

We don’t just recycle the appliances themselves – we repurpose the packaging too.

When our installation team have finished fitting your shiny new appliance, they’ll take the boxes with them. All the cardboard will then be sent off to be recycled. And it’ll eventually get turned into loads of other useful stuff, from carrier bags to more packaging, and even insulation for new houses.

4
Colleague stripping parts from small gadget

We recycle and refurb small gadgets too

First, we’ll hand any small bits to one of our special recycling partners. They’ll give it the once over to see if it’s ok to reuse. If it can’t be saved, they’ll strip out the important parts, and use them to make something new. Clever, huh?

We also refurbish laptops and phones. And after fixing them so they're good as new, we'll put them up for sale again. This keeps them out of landfill, making it one of the most sustainable ways to buy and sell gadgets.

And we must be doing something right. Our war against waste keeps on hitting the headlines. Plus, it’s even been given the stamp of approval from the PM himself!

Colleagues taking away old fridge for recycling

You can recycle in-store or when we deliver

Our team can take away your old appliance when they come to fit the new one. And if you’ve got any smaller stuff – like that broken toaster gathering dust under the stairs – you can give us that too.

Or you could always pop into your local shop instead. Show up with your tech and we’ll recycle it for you, completely free. It doesn’t even matter if you didn’t buy it from us.

Plus, if you do recycle in-store, we’ll give you at least £5 to put towards some new tech through our Cash for Trash scheme. Recycling definitely pays off.
