Water fights in the garden are about to get way more epic. Forget Super Soakers – those are so last decade. And water balloons? Pfft. Gel Blaster is where it’s at now! But who are the new kids on the block? Well, ready up and lock and load, because we’ve got the full lowdown right here…

Who are Gel Blaster?

Launching over on Kickstarter back in 2020, Gel Blaster are now one of the fastest growing toy companies in the US. And they’ve shot right to the top by selling more than 2 million blasters since then! Woah.

Their aim is to get people away from their gadgets and into the great outdoors to play. Going head-to-head in fun, fast paced shootouts with gel-based blasters.

We know exactly what it’s like trying to drag the kids off their consoles. And don’t even get us started about tearing them away from their phones. So, we’re fully onboard – and we’re now stocking the Gel Blaster arsenal right here at Currys.

But which blasters can you get your hands on? Let’s check out what we’ve added to our loadout…

Gel Blaster Surge

The Gel Blaster Surge may be small, but you get a whole lot of bang for your buck.

It comes with 10,000 water based Gellets, and these are exactly what they sound like. This gel and water combo completely dissolves after it hits its target. Leaving zero mess behind when the firefight’s over. So, you can spend more time having fun, and less time cleaning up. And because they’re all-natural and non-toxic, they’re super safe for kids and pets too. You don’t have to worry about friendly fire here! Nice.

Speaking of safety, the Surge comes with a pair of handy safety specs. And that means there won’t be any nasty injuries on the battlefield – even when the Gellets start flying. Just make sure you pop them on before you begin blasting.

You can fit 800 Gellets in the hopper at once. Which is more than enough ammo for a faceoff with your friends. After all, you don’t want to have to keep reloading every few minutes. That’s always a right pain when you’re using those old-school water pistols.

What if you’re pinned down behind cover though? Simple. Just flick the Surge to fully automatic mode and make a break for it. It’ll fire over 10 Gellets per second! Crazy stuff. Then switch to single shot when you’re trying to nail that tricky moving target. It’s way more accurate.

Oh, and there won’t be any more arguments about who’s been hit. The Gellets explode into bright colours on impact. You can’t get away with any cheating here…

Gel Blaster Surge XL Day ‘N’ Nite

Need even more firepower? Charge into battle and dominate the competition with the Gel Blaster Surge XL Day ‘N’ Nite. It’s bigger and better in pretty much every way.

It definitely lives up to the XL in its name, that’s for sure. Instead of 800 Gellets, you can now fit a whopping 1000 in the hopper at once. Your opponents won’t know what hit them! And because you’re not reloading as much, they won’t be getting the drop on you anytime soon either.

There’s an extra fire mode to try out too. Giving you a whole new tactical edge to unleash. With burst fire, you’ve got the perfect balance between single shot and full auto. Blasting 3 rounds at once is great for those long-range attacks. So, you’ll be able to protect your mate when they’re charging that enemy position at the end of your garden.

For even more oomph from your blaster, just grab the Velocity Barrel Tool. Pop it in the end and dial up the Surge XL for some way punchier shots. You can pick from speeds of 170 feet per second, all the way up to 250. Letting you cause some absolute havoc on the battlefield.

Gel Blaster Starfire Surge

Don’t let the lack of daylight get in the way of the action. The Gel Blaster Starfire Surge lets you keep playing right on into the night. And that’s all down to the clever glow in the dark Gellets. You’ll be able to see exactly where your shots are going, even when it’s pitch black. Making it perfect for some balmy summer evening battles!

It’s still got all the same cool tech as the regular Surge, making it one of the most advanced blasters out there. But if you’re not a fan of the white look on the regular version, that’s cool. There’s a snazzy purple paint job here instead. Helping you to stand out from everyone else rushing around the arena.

Tech tip: All out of Gellets? Grab another pack, add some water to them, and you’ll have more ammo in a flash. And to make things even easier, you can store them in the handy Gellet Depot.

Looking for some other great toy ideas? No worries, we’ve got you covered. Make sure to check out our robot toys – young budding engineers and scientists will love them! And if they can’t sit still, take things up a gear with ride on and wheeled toys instead. Quad bikes. Motorbikes. Go-karts. Fire trucks. We’ve got them all.
