CES 2024 takes place in Las Vegas from 9th to 12th January. It’s the world’s biggest Consumer Electronics Show, and it’s the place where we get to see amazing new tech from the biggest brands – along with fun and quirky tuff from the smaller tech companies. Here’s a rundown of all the big announcements so far.
TVs at CES 2024
Samsung goes transparent and glare-free
Samsung has announced its 2024 TV lineup, which includes the first world transparent - yes, transparent - Micro-LED display. The demo at the show really wowed the crowd, with everything from flashing fireworks to splashing paint appearing in spectacular colours onscreen.
We’re also going to see some Samsung TVs with glare-free technology, which is another feature that really impresses up close. The screen has a matte finish that absorbs light, rather than reflecting it - so nothing detracts from the bright and vibrant OLED display.
The latest Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, OLED were also showcased, and these TVs will be using advanced AI to enhance motion, depth and audio,. Samsung says they will: “combine best-in-class picture quality with premium features.”
LG TVs go big on AI. And transparency!
LG is rocking CES 2024 with a genuine game-changer - the world’s first wireless transparent OLED TV. The 77-inch display gives an almost 3-D like sense of depth when the transparency mode is switched on. And with a push of the remote’s button, you can see what’s behind the screen. Very cool.
Other OLED TVs in the new LG range will be using AI to sharpen objects, refine colours, and produce virtual surround sound for a more lifelike viewing experience than ever before.

Gaming and Computing at CES 2024
HP unveils new Spectre and Omen gaming laptops
HP gave us a first look at its amazing new Omen and Spectre laptops. The Omen Transcend 14 sounds like an absolute game changer for gaming on the go - HP says it’s he lightest 14” gaming laptop ever made, weighing in at a mere 1.6 kg. And HP’s new Spectre laptops come loaded with AI tech that offers loads of new features, including dynamic refresh rates and automatic background blur.
Asus redesigns its ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 gaming laptops
Asus has improved a couple of its most popular gaming laptops – the ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16. These are going to be the first laptops to feature OLED displays, and the slimmer new aluminium body really looks the part too.
Samsung’s new wireless controller
Samsung has announced its partnership with PDP’s new wireless controller, the ‘Replay Midnight Blue’, which is the first ‘Designed for Samsung Gaming Hub’ product. It features a home button to instantly launch the Samsung Gaming Hub, and Samsung says it’ll last for 40 hours on a single charge.
MSI Claw A1M – snappy handheld gaming
MSI has announced its own console - the MSI Claw. It’s built around an Intel Meteor Lake processor, which is fairly unique as most other handhelds use an AMD chip instead. The new console will have a 7” Full HD IPS display and 120Hz refresh rate for smoother and more responsive gameplay. We’re expecting good things!
Razer’s ‘Project Esther’ gaming cushion
Razer is taking immersion up a notch with its ‘Project Esther’ gaming cushion. It attaches to your office or gaming chair and uses 16 haptic pads to create physical feedback that matches your in-game audio. So, you’ll be able to feel the rumble of a tank as it rolls by. You’ll be on the edge of your seat!
Intel reveals its 14th gen CPU family
Intel has announced two different laptop chip platforms — Core Ultra chips and 14th gen chips. The Core Ultra chips are perfect for most laptop users, featuring Intel's latest AI chip technology, and enough power for serious gaming. The 14th gen chips take things up another level with more power and pure speed.
LG launches new Gram Pro laptops
LG has added a couple of sleek and lightweight Gram laptops to its lineup. These Pro models come in 16-inch or 17-inch sized displays, with upgraded OLED panels that now allow touch input. The faithful stylus has also had a revamp, so it now recharges when you attach it magnetically to the laptops.
Dell overhauls its XPS laptops
Dell has added a new XPS 16 and XPS 14 to its range, featuring built-in AI, the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, and Microsoft’s Copilot. And with ExpressCharge, it’ll take just 60 minutes to get 80% of battery life.

Samsung go all-in with AI
Samsung’s new fridges have AI Vision Inside, so it’ll scan the contents of your fridge. Not only can it suggest recipes but you’ll also get sent alerts when your food is going bad. Samsung Washer dryers are also getting an AI boost, with sensors that will launder clothes more effectively than ever before.
LG’s new washer dryer with AI smarts
The new LG WashCombo™ All-in-One washer dryer has built-in sensors that use AI tech to detect fabric texture, soil level and load size. It then automatically selects the right wash and dry motions, and the best temperatures for spotless laundry.
Putting the AI into airfyers

Philips wants to make microwaves even easier
Panasonic’s HomeChef 3-in-1 multi-oven is a microwave with an AI assistant hidden somewhere inside. It can customise recipes based on all sorts of things, including dietary restrictions.

Guess who’s back?
We first saw Bally as a tennis-ball sized robot at CES 2020. Now it’s back (and bigger), with a built-in projector and advanced tech inside its cute body. As you can see from the video above, Bally can follow you (or your pets) around the home to make sure everything’s okay. It’ll even greet you with a welcome message as you walk in the door. Lovely stuff.
Paws for thought
Here’s a smart door that only opens when it detects the sensor on your dogs collar approaching. And with the accompanying app, you can track your dog’s location and set curfew times so it doesn’t go outside too late.
