Fable

Fable is an open-world fantasy RPG from Playground Games, and their first mainline Fable game since 2010! Set in the magical land of Albion, Fable lets you create your own Hero, embark on epic quests, battle fantastical creatures and make choices that shape the world around you. Expect a playful mix of action, adventure and plenty of tongue-in-cheek humour.

Fable releases on Tuesday, 23 February 2027. The long-awaited reboot was pushed back from Autumn 2026 to give Playground Games extra time to put the finishing touches on Albion's epic return. As a first-party XBOX title, Fable will be available on Game Pass from launch day. But owners of the Premium and Collector’s Edition can jump in five days earlier on 18 February!

Fable is coming to XBOX Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5! This marks the first time a mainline Fable game has launched on PlayStation, opening the gates of Albion to more players than ever before.

Yes, from 25 November. Fable will be available to pre-order at Currys for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S and PC. The Standard Edition (£59.99) is the physical boxed version, whereas the Premium Edition (£89.99) is digital only.

Pre-order any edition and you'll unlock the Pre-Order Content Pack at launch. That includes the delightfully ridiculous Chicken Suit, plus in-game gifts, such as a Wild Flower Bouquet, Toy Chicken and Scones & Jam Picnic Hamper, which all help shape your reputation.

The Collector’s Edition (£189.99) is the ultimate package for Fable fans. It features everything in the Premium Edition, plus a Jack of Blades statuette, hardcover art book, SteelBook case and Guild Seal lapel pin.

You’ll also get up to five days early access, exclusive cosmetic content and the post-launch story expansion, Fable: Order of the Hero at no extra cost. Lots of great stuff!

Neither. Fable is a complete reboot of the series, not a remake of the original game or a direct sequel to Fable III. It takes players back to Albion with a brand-new story, fresh characters and is designed to be a new starting point for both newcomers and long-time fans.

Fable is a single-player only game with no multi-player currently confirmed. Rather than teaming up with friends online, you'll be setting out on a solo adventure across Albion and forging your own legend.
