Modern gaming is already pretty immersive. But to feel like you’re really in the game, there’s nothing better than a full-on gaming sim setup. With a wheel and a set of pedals, you’ll be sat smack bang in the driving seat of your favourite supercars. Or you can always take to the skies instead and kit yourself out with a joystick and hop into the cockpit of a fighter plane. It’s completely up to you.

So, here’s some of our favourite gaming simulation accessories that’ll definitely take your setup to the next level. You won’t want to go back to a standard controller or keyboard after trying these.

Reckon you’re the next Lewis Hamilton? Put your skills to the test with a custom racing rig…

Logitech G29

The Logitech G29 bundles together a wheel and a set of pedals, and it’s built especially for PlayStation and PC racers. But don’t worry Xbox fans - you don’t have to make a pit stop to change consoles. Just check out the Logitech G920 bundle instead.

With engine speed LEDs, you’ll know when to shift gears with just a glance. While a selection dial gives you quick access to all your key car settings. It doesn’t look like there’s a button to roll your windows down though. So, you might have to get up and open those yourself.

There won’t be any distractions either. With the included Astro A10 headset, you’ll be completely in the zone while you go for that track record. And if you’re tackling a Le Mans style endurance race, you’ll stay nice and comfy, as the foam headband and earcups won’t get itchy or annoying – even lap after lap.

Thrustmaster T128

If you want to squeeze the most from your racing rig, the Thrustmaster T128 is where it’s at. It’s got a next-gen hybrid drive, which makes it 20% more powerful than Thrustmaster’s other hybrid racing wheels. While the magnetic paddle shifters are really responsive and feel like the gear shifters on an actual supercar. All in all, you’ll have a wheely good time.

It’s ideal for any kind of setup too. The quick attachment system will slot onto any kind of desk and table, as long as they’re nothing chunkier than 5.5 cm thick. And that means you can jump into the action quicker than a Ferrari F1 car goes from 0-60 seconds. Ok, maybe not that fast, but you know what we mean…

Logitech G923

It’s super important to get off to a good start. And that’s exactly where the Logitech G923 comes in. Its dual clutch launch control does what it says on the tin – firing you off the starting line and giving you maximum traction right when you need it. Your opponents won’t know what hit em’.

Like the best mechanics, you can even tune up your wheel to match exactly how you like to race. Just head into the G HUB software on your PC and you’ll be able to tweak all kinds of settings. Switch up the levels of force feedback, customise what specific buttons do and adjust the sensitivity of the wheel handling. When you need to shave a few seconds off your lap time, these small adjustments might be just what you need.

Thrustmaster T248

Grab the Thrustmaster T248 and put the pedal to the metal. And what a set of pedals it is. You’ll have way more precision on the track, with four different pressure modes to pick from on your brake pedal. If you like to speed into the corners and drift your way round them, go for a less sensitive setting. But if the circuit is full of tight hairpin bends, swap over to a mode that’ll put the brakes on with just a tiny tap.

Like to dig into the data and see exactly how you and your car are performing? You can do that. Pick from more than 20 unique stats and display them on the built-in screen that’s sat right in the middle of the wheel. And that can be anything from your best lap time to your current speed. Just remember to slow down when that chicane shows up.

Thrustmaster T300 RS GT

If you’re a big PlayStation racer, you’ll feel right at home with this Thrustmaster T300RS GT Edition. It’s licensed by Gran Turismo and has the classic logo right in the centre of the wheel. But it’s not just about the looks. It’s packing force feedback, so you’ll literally feel all those bone rattling jolts when you skid out on a corner. Make sure you strap in!

You won’t have to take your eyes off the road either. With 12 buttons built into the wheel, you don’t need to keep swapping between it and your PS5 controller. So, there’s nothing to break your immersion, and you can focus on taking that top spot on the podium.

You don’t want to wing it when you fire up your flight sim. So, get set for your trip and pack some essential flying tech…

Thrustmaster Airbus Captain Pack

If you want a setup that’s as close to the real thing as you can get, then check out the Thrustmaster Airbus Captain Pack. This joystick and throttle are a 1:1 replica of the sidestick and quadrant in an actual Airbus airliner. Pretty cool, right? And those fine details go right on down to the handling – with a thrust reverser mechanism that feels exactly like the one on the proper plane.

The amount of buttons, dials and knobs might look a bit intimidating at first, but trust us, you’ll need them. 31 action buttons and 4 axes will give you that super fine handling and accuracy you need to get through a section of turbulence in one piece. You just might have to tell your passengers to hold on…

Saitek Pro flight instrument panel

The more info you’ve got to hand, the smoother that flight’s going to be. And with the Saitek Pro flight instrument panel, boy are you going to have a lot of that right at your fingertips. You’ve got six special flight instruments to choose from – an altimeter, altitude indicator, compass, airspeed indicator, vertical speed and a turn and slip indicator. You can swap between them on the fly with a few taps, depending on what you need to see. When the nasty weather rolls in, you’ll definitely be glad you’ve got that data on hand to see you through it.

Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas One

Military jets. Space fighters. Commercial airliners. You can use the Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas One to pilot all of them and more. And it’ll be in its element during a tense dogfight, as the ergonomic design is really comfortable – even when you’ve got sweaty palms trying to line up that enemy plane in your sights. There’s none of that annoying cramp to throw off your shots here.

Saitek radio panel

Saitek’s radio panel adds a realistic final touch to your cockpit. Thanks to the LED displays (that work in real time), you don’t have to keep bringing up the radio stack on screen. Which means there’s less to distract you, and you can keep that flight over the Atlantic on time.

It’s compatible with the latest sims like Flight Simulator X too. But for you veteran pilots out there, it’ll even run on the 2004 version of the game. So, if you’re not ready to upgrade to the newest title just yet, Saitek have you covered.

Saitek X52 Pro

While the Saitek X52 Pro has a bunch of the same buttons and triggers as the other controllers on our list, it’s also got a secret weapon up its sleeve. Dedicated missile launchers! So, if you want to wage digital war on your enemies – and prefer a dogfight over a relaxed flight over to Europe – you should be adding this to your loadout right away.

And while it comes with support for Microsoft Flight Simulator X, that’s not where the fun stops. It also comes with a software development kit. So, if you’re a bit of a programmer on the side, you can do some tinkering and get it to work with loads of your other favourite games.

Saitek X56

Take your gameplay to new heights with the Saitek X56. You’ve got a whole range of precise controls to use here. Roll forwards and backwards. Pitch up and down. Move left and right. Your craft will react immediately to the tiniest of touches, giving you the control to pull off barrel rolls and steep dives easily.

Does your sci-fi ship have two engines? Then you’re in luck. With twin throttles, you’ve always got a backup if your main engine gets taken out in battle, and you’re trying to escape with just the one. You could say this makes the kit here twice as good.

Turtle Beach VelocityOne flight stick

It’s fair to say planes have a lot of buttons. In all, there are 27 packed onto the Turtle Beach VelocityOne flightstick. And each is full programmable, letting you assign specific functions on your aircraft to wherever you need them most. Just don’t confuse the autopilot with the ejector seat…

Lefties aren’t left out here either. Because of the reversible wrist rest, you can swap it around and make sure you’re comfy for your entire journey. Those long-haul flights will absolutely fly by now.

Turtle Beach VelocityOne Yoke

The Turtle Beach VelocityOne Yoke is the real deal. Designed with the help of professional pilots and flight engineers, it’s been built to be as true to life to the controls in a proper cockpit. And that starts with the yoke handle. This thing has a lifelike 180° range of rotation, which helps you to steer your aircraft with perfect accuracy. It’s a life saver when you’re trying to hit that short runway in high winds.

It probably goes without saying, but every plane isn’t the same. So, by using the onboard flight management display, you can create and save custom control profiles to suit the different machines you’ll be taking charge of. Then, when it’s time for take-off, you can quickly swap to a layout that suits whatever you’re flying. It means you’ll spend less time faffing about, and more time in the air.

If you fancy something a bit more chilled out, you could always try running your own farm instead. You’ll have a field day with these…

Saitek Farm Simulator controller

Saitek’s Farm Simulator controller lets you get behind the wheel of all that heavy farming machinery. Literally. With full 900-degree rotation, you’ll be in full control of your bulldozer while you carry out some renovation work. While planting with the seed drill will be extra precise. And with a set of gas and brake pedals, you can really give it some welly when you’re getting behind on the muck spreading.

It's nice and quick to set up too - just plug it in and play straight out of the box. It’ll work with any kind of farm sim title, and if you need a break from the farming, it’s even compatible with games like Train Simulator, Euro Truck and Elite Dangerous. Just remember to water the crops before you head off.

Saitek Farm Simulator side panel

Your tractor or combine harvester won’t be complete without the Saitek Farm Simulator side panel. It might not look flashy, but through just this one bit of kit you’ll be able to manage all of your vehicles and keep the farm running smoothly. After all, you don’t want to make a pig’s ear of it…

The best feature is its Autopilot mode. Toggle it on and let your workers handle the day to day while you focus on the big picture. And if you want to make planting all those crops even quicker, it’ll help you do that too. Assign custom actions to over 24 different buttons, trigger them with one press, and sit back while the harvest rolls in.

Here’s some star space sim tech you’ll definitely want along with you in the shuttle…

Thrustmaster T-16000M FCS Space Sim duo joysticks

If you want to get really hands-on with your spacecraft, you can’t go wrong with the Thrustmaster T-16000M FCS joysticks. By using two joysticks instead of just the one, you’ll have a whole other level of control. Which can come in handy during deadly dogfights and tricky landing sequences.

And if you’re flying in VR (yep, they’re fully compatible with your headset), you’ll still know what’s going on. Smart braille-style markings make them easy to handle completely through touch. So, you won’t accidentally hit the booster when you’re trying to blast away with your laser cannon.
